modify the tubes and switch the axleshafts side to side and you wind up with a side drive 14 bolt

Kaegi.... what you have to remember is that some people drink the proverbial Land Cruiser "Koolaid"....they won't be swayed from their opinion.....

My experience with Landcruisers was with my 1978 FJ55 wagon..... I definitely will say there are some things Toyota "borrowed" from Dodge...the driveshaft flange styles...the "banjo" style diffs,However the Toyota steering knuckles and brakes (drum) are more Willys like... the La...

I would weld a short chunk of flat bar to that steel wedge and then hold the bar in a bench vise to drive the axe head off of the wedge Another thing to do before you attempt to pull the wedge is to drive the butt end of the axe handle down on a hard surface to set the axe head lower on the handle, ...

The big U bolts mount in the door frame to attach the top bows ( actually there is one U bolt and one J bolt)
