Re: Radiator/Shroud Differences
Thanks Elwood, gotta compare when I get Radiator back. All seem to bolt up correctly. Maybe I can find a reason for the bottom torching. Maybe a plow mount of sorts. Either way it fits and works fine.

Radiator/Shroud Differences
After sending out my radiator for a recore I noticed my fan shroud was modified a bit. The very bottom was cut off with a torch (not so neatly) and the top was notched with shears to clear radiator neck. My question is are there slight differences in radiators, from let say, a M-37, a M-37B1 or mayb...

Thank you Charles ! I knew I could count on a professional to come thru ! Btw, going to be moving to South Carolina in a few months. Aiken to be exact. I'll have to swing by and say hello. Thanks again.

Re: Timing Mark
Ok, great. I agree. But with no batteries right now I'm not sure on which side of DC is BTDC. I think engine rotates clockwise. Does anyone know, standing in front of engine looking rearward, which side of TDC is BTDC ?

Timing Mark
I never could find the timing marks on my crank pulley due to years of paint and grime. But us old timers don't need a timing light anyway. But with the radiator out and a lot sanding there they were! My question is, according to specs timing should be set at 2 degrees, but which side of the DC mark...

Re: Water Cooling Tube
Thanks Bob. Actually found a great article on removing the tube (tech tips p15-d24.com). I'm sure the tube is 62 years young, and I'm sure it's not coming out without a fight. And yes, you're right, it should be changed as soon as possible. I'm just afraid of starting to remove it and damaging it be...

Water Cooling Tube
Now that my radiator is removed and sent out to be refurbished (they just called back and said its totally clogged and needs a re core, $$$ ouch) I was thinking about removing the water pump and attempting to change out the water cooling tube. I just don't think it will easily come out and don't wan...

Motor Mount Plate Straps
Just pulled my radiator for a long overdue refurbishing. Now thats its out of the way I noticed that the two metal straps that loop over the crossmember are not bolted to the motor mount plate. I assume they should be bolted to the plate. Although the holes line up they are fairly small. Should they...

Lean Surge ???
I'm sure this topic was covered before because it might be common. My 53 runs well but a fuel problem has gotten worse. It's sort of like a lean surge but not sure. Truck will run OK around 30 MPH then suddenly back off like running out of fuel then pick right back up again. This happens over and ov...
