Re: Canadian M37 Hardtop removal...
Hey Gang... Well, took the top off today...what a difference! Now it reminds me of my M38A1. Top wasn't too bad to get off, I remember the U bolts...but I wish someone had told me about the J bolts right above them! Didn't find that until I fought the top to get it off! Arg! Was a bit rusty under th...

Re: Fire extinguisher,General Fire Guard, Quick Aid Model 85
Gents... I also recently acquired one of these vintage brass beauties for my M37. I hate having a rack/bracket that is empty! Up here in Ontario, they are quite plentiful! I see them all the time at antique stores ranging in price from $15 to $50. If anyone else wants one, let me know. I can probabl...

Canadian M37 Hardtop removal...
Hey Gang... With all this nice weather we've been having, I have been missing the convertible like qualityies of my old 67 M38A1. So, I have decided to take the hardtop off my M37. I know that there are bolts along the back, and some more bolts of some type along the top of the windshield. Just wond...

Re: 6 bladed fan?
My Canadian M37 also has a 6 blade fan. Man, does it move A LOT of air. When I stand in front of the truch when at idle, the fan pulls my shirt towards the rad.

Temperature mystery...
Hey gang... So I am still plugging away at my M37. I got a 0-60 oil pressure sending unit last week (...I had a 0-120 with a 0-60 guage...) and installed that. So now I know that I have 20-30lb at idle at 55lb at highway speed...phew! I also installed a new temperature sending unit, as the guage has...

Re: Steering question...
Well, pulled the pitman arm off the steering box today..still stiff. Under closer inspection, I see that somehow the housing around the output shaft has been damaged, so now the housing is rubbing against the output shaft. Ah well, at least I know the problem now. Now to see if I can track down a st...

Steering question...
Hey Gang... I have been snooping around on the net, and watching movies of M37 trucks. I have noticed that the ones in the movies are easy to steer. In sharp contrast, my truck is not easy to steer. Now, I do not expect it to steer like my modern power-assisted steering vehicles, but my truck is a B...

Hey Gang... Me and the wife went down to Frankenmuth, MI last week for the big Bavarian Festival and shopping in Birch Run. Anyhoo, I popped over to the Frankenmuth Military Museum (...unfortunately as they were closing up...) and found tank, a 6x6 and an M37. Any of you guys know this one? Looked l...

Re: Largest load carried?
I haven't hauled many loads in my truck, but I did use it to flip over a 1700lb concrete 5 step and landing that was behind my house. I needed it moved and flipped over in order to smash it. I drilled a hole into the step, put a 3/4" bolt though it, hooked a chain onto the truck, put it in low ...

Fuel pump for a 251ci
Hey Gang...
Just had to put on a new fuel pump on my Canadian M37 because the factory one was only making 2.5lbs.
SO, now the truck runs great, and I have the old pump. So if anyone is looking for a good re-buildable core, I am selling the old pump as such.
Asking $65 obo

Re: Had to call the tow truck today...
Hey Gang...
Bad news...the pump is only making 2.5 pounds of pressure. Guess I need a pump. Ah well...she should run great once that is fixed, considering that it runs pretty damn good right now!
Thanks

Re: Had to call the tow truck today...
Thanks Charles...
I borrowed a pressure guage today, so tonight I will see what kind of pressure the pump is producing. If it's less than 4.5psi, then I'll look into rebuilding this pump of getting another.
I'll let you know how it turns out.

Re: Had to call the tow truck today...
The saga continues.... I installed the little plastic see-through in-line filter and fired her up tonight...I now think that my pump needs to be rebuilt. Now that I can see what's going on inside the filter, I can see that at idle and at fast idle, the pump is barely putting enough fuel into the fil...
