HHC 1/501 Inf (Ft Campbell 101st) had two M37 w/w by MTOE in 1972/3. Replaced in 73 by two Gamma Goats....BIG MISTAKE!!! By mid 70s I would guess most had been relegated to Guard/Reserve units. Stilll had some nice ones at Camp McCoy Wisconsin in 1979 when I was there evaluating a Reserve unit summe...

Couple of thoughts
First I agree out the thermostat back in. No thermostat speeds the flow of water...but water going through the radiator too fast doesn't dump its heat as well.... Are you sure your temp gage is accurate??? Try running with out the cap on until she gets warm (not really hot) then use your wife's meat...

Linkage
Adjusting the linkages would be a good first step. The Manual lays out the steps it is important to follow the sequence. (High low first then 2-4)

Problem Lifer, You can't get a torque wrench onto a few nuts on the manifold like the two top middle and the bottom middle, only an open end wrench will fit. I guess one has to approximate the less accessible nuts. Greencom You might try a crow foot on your torque wrench. If it will fit it will cha...

DOT 5
Its your truck and when it comes to brake fluid like lubricants everyone has an opinion. One of the reasons the Army changed over to Silicone was that large numbers of Army vehicles are rarely used and spent most of their life sitting...(for you older members think POMCUS stocks in Europe). Even tho...

If it cranked...
I am curious. if teh batteries were strong enough to crank the engine (assuming it was at some reasonable speed not just barely turning over) then there should have been sufficient juice to fire the spark plugs... Mine can take some extended cranking but that is only after she has been sitting (some...

Am I missing something here. We are bailing out Chrysler and GM to save American jobs and in turn they are giving jobs to Egyptians to build stuff for our own military....

Numbers
There are no records on hood numbers (The USA number).
If you uncover any bumper markings post them here we maybe able to decipher them and you will know what unit your truck was assigned to.

Stencils
Your truck must not have been in a Medical Unit. Medical units (Non-Divisional) were heavily female. Since they weren't into wrench turning I had some of mine turn out stencils. Start with manila folders for stencil material and scalpels from the medical assemblages, add 3-4 woman and an afternoon a...

22NF is the same size as the mil spec but the terminals are reversed. They are easy to find. I believe there is a 22SNF that has the correct terminal but they are much harder (read $$$) to find..

Wiring
The charging system should be the only part that would vary from the 24v wiring diagram. And that modification would depend on the type of alternator. Other than that the standard wiring harnesses should work. (you may have to cut off the douglas or packard end terminals to connect to your 12v guage...
