Re: water temp issue
agreed with Bob, use an IR thermometer on the head and block. You have to remember that when the thermostat opens you will get a slight drop in temp as the VERY large radiator capacity is now in circulation. I would put an engine block heater in there if you don't want to have to wait for it to warm...

Re: M35A2 Top
if you want to make a road trip I know they have new ones in TN and Mseries Rebuilt might have some or know of some in NC. I think the deuce is wider than the m37 which is why they used CCKW tops to adapt instead of the deuce. you'd have to cut it down the middle and weld it back together to get it ...

Re: 351W Mods
Thanks Ray. I don't really see any vapor lock issues, but since I'll be going to EFI eventually I figure if I'm going to run return lines eventually I may as well do it now.

Re: Various parts from a '51
ok, now with the V8 swap in progress I've ditched the dual carb thing and the other Tom was able to find a second manifold in good shape in his parts bin so that is now up for grabs. I'm looking for a drivers seat without springs if anyone happens to have one of them 4bbl Edelbrock finned air cleane...

Re: 351W Mods
any suggestions from either of you guys for a return/bypass fuel system for the 351w? I have a Holley 4160 carb on there and see the benefit of the bypass over a deadhead system but figured I'd see if either of you had worked this type of system in previous builts. Modifying the tank pickup etc. Wou...

Re: R/C model M37 YouTube video
guy said it was about 60 hours of build time. I'm sure a round 2 would be a bit faster, but not by much. That's about $4k in labor at $65/hour.... yikes

Re: Ugly Truckling down, new source of discs?
As mentioned earlier in the thread about the 8 lug hmmwv rims. http://s589.photobucket.com/user/saxplayer1004/library/M37%20Hubs I downloaded all of the pictures from his album on SS and am emailing with him now praying he has cad drawings and will give them to me so I can try to make these. Re: Engine Storage?
I would put it on the stand, fill it up with oil and spin the oil pump with a drill to coat everything. Put some MMO in the cylinders and turn the crank over a couple of times to coat the walls. Plug all of the intake and exhaust ports, cover with a blanket to keep dust off and you're good to go for...

Thanks, I actually have no earthly idea what is in there right now but I believe it is fine glass bead, was what was in the system when I got it. I have a guy down the street that does mobile blasting but also has a garage that he does smaller parts in. Since he doesn't reuse the media, he gives it ...

Re: M43 seats
Thanks Bob, someone got a good deal on that truck... I'll probably just try to find a second drivers seat and cut the box down since the box itself looks like it is riveted in there and then just box it it from the doghouse. I want to put a power inverter, stereo, and lockable storage in the center ...

M43 seats
Ok guys, needing some help with the guys with the ambulances. I'm wanting to put bomber style seats in my M37 and since the drivers seat is already the right style I figured it would be best/easiest to replace the seat section with those from an M43 so I can put a center console between and have the...
