Re: shock absorbers
Just found the article and how much i was off on my numbers. It appears a stock M37 shock has the following values 1100lbs for rebound control and 200 lbs for compression rate. This is because the M37 has an excellent design of leaves that allow lots of movement in them. The higher rebound control i...

Re: shock absorbers
Monroe magnun websites used to display the technical information on the big bore gabriel shocks. The shocks I bought from them are very close to the original compression and extension rate values. I believe the compression rate was around 80 lbs per inch and the extension ranges were somewhere betwe...

Re: M37 and PW parts needed
The last time I checked the M37 trucks had been removed from active service. I seriously doubt that selling NOS parts from 50 years ago is a federal criminal matter. If that's the way your government works then i'm sad to say your deep troubles my friend. The parts were to be shipped to a mailbox ce...

Re: M37 and PW parts needed
Master Yoda : I had worked out the parts list and got a deal together with the shipping and everything to a mail drop centre at Niagara Falls NY. When I went to pay with PayPal he checked and found that I was Canadian. The words in the email say that he would not ship parts to me because I'm not a U...

Re: M37 and PW parts needed
I tried Brian Asbury up here in Canada but he has no parts. I ordered some from VPW and also from John at Midwest. Both have some of the parts but not all. Ab would have been the easiet and cheapest but I can't get him to send them to me or a US mailing address. Oh well... Terry , PS thanks for the ...

Re: Hot Transfer Case
The most probable reason why they run hot is the large amount of gears running in contact all the time. The oil capacity is not that great and I usually add another 1/2 litre or more to mine and that seems to help. The higher road speeds we use them for today does not help either. So in general we h...

M37 and PW parts needed
I am trying to purchase some M37 and PW parts from Ab Linn in North Carolina. I had a price and shipping costs all worked out ( around $250 US) but he will not send them to me because I'm not a US citizen. Can someone order the parts for me and send them to a mailing address in Niagara Falls NY so I...

Re: light switch/gauge question
Th epower supply to the gauges comes from the ignition main switch. With it on the gauges have power from wire # 27 that feeds the 4 or 5 wire spider assembly to the gauges. Sounds like someone has crossed up the wiring to fix a problem?? Wire t# 15 supplies the light switch at it's connector and it...

Re: Front springs
Sal : the M101 I have is a canadian made trailer from 1952. They made a bunch up here for our army boys to use and they are the match to the M37 at 3/4 ton rating. Terry

Re: Front springs
I have a 52 CDN M101 trailer and the springs are no where near as heavy as the M37's. The trailers are only 5 leafs but are a lot thinner and thus don't have the load capacity.. They are also shorter in length. Terry

Re: Strange problem
MY truck did the same thing when I rebuilt the carb using a new leather cupped accelerator pump. The leather pump piston was slightly too big and would stick in the bore , thus causing no accelerator pump squirting down the carb throat. I had to remove it and slightly reduce the diameter of it until...
