Re: Repacking front wheel bearings?

Hi Charles, Just to be clear, are you talking about nut 7348982? And, if I understand you correctly, are you putting that in a 6 jaw chuck and spinning it to resurface (true) well enough to accept a speedi-sleeve? And if so do you typically take it down to a given dimension such that you use the sa...

Re: Repacking front wheel bearings?

I am replacing my REAR wheel bearings and seals (and brake shoes). The rear inner seal had failed and everything was bathed in gear oil. So...I am hoping somebody has a bearing and race part number or can confirm what I have gleaned in my online research. I also would like to know if a modern avail...

RULE OF THUMB

Only a few minutes to spend right now, although I have not read this full thread, I could have missed something. I did not see any definitive solution to the original problem mentioned. First thing, DO A COMPRESSION TEST before spending $$$ on repairs / rebuilds of accessory components. Low compress...

Re: MILITARY COLLECTOR"S TV, season II

Unfortunately, those of us with Comcast cannot see it. Amazing how the cable companies have taken control of out lives. Life was much simpler with three or four channels plus UHF. As all the young guys on here are scratching their heads and saying "what the hell is he talking about? 3-4 channe...

Re: Timing pointer on 230 flat head six engine missing

We have a jig that we made for precisely locating the pointer position on the cover. This way we can fab new pointers and install them precisely on covers that do not have pointers any longer. We see a fair amount that don't have pointers.

Re: MILITARY COLLECTOR"S TV, season II

Feb 9th is a Friday. I have mine set up to record but I didn't work for some reason. I am guessing priority of the timer. I need to boost it to the top! 'So dear I don't know why your cooking show did not record.' I went online and watched the Armor Reenactors in Florida show. I...

Gary It will be posted on the Military Collector's youtube site after the show has aired nationally. We will also have a link posted so you can watch it at mseriesreb...

Re: Carburetor Rebuild Help - won't idle after rebuild

I just rebuilt my ETW1 carb on my 1953 M37. I had a bad float valve and decided to go thru it. After reassembly, I used a marine priming bulb to fill the carb and bench test it. I discovered that my carb is leaking fuel between the top and bottom halves. All the fasteners are tight and the carb bod...

Anyone have a set of 4.89 gears to sell? VPW won't be having any made until summer. I wish, they told me they would have the next run on the shelf by spring 2018, sounds like that plan may have changed though. I know it is a huge investment to get a run cut, and I do respect that, however as long a...

Re: Push button light switch

What we have dealt with have been problematic, but since you have it, and wish to use it, go for it. Nothing about the cannon plug connection is different, so if it fails you, no issue to change back to the 3-lever switch. We have also had a fair share of 3-lever switches to quickly fail, and a few ...
