Re: how do i get this pin out?

You'll probably have to heat it to free it up. Used to that kind of stuff here in the rust belt!

Re: electrical gremlins

Its easier to use the dual filament bulb for the tail and brake lights and have separate lights for the turn signals. The dual filament is much brighter for the brake light.

Re: Source for SS armored brake line sets?

I've been using nickle/copper lines in my auto repair business for the past couple years, and it is so much easier to bend and work with than steel lines or stainless.

Re: strange bolt steering box

The adjusting screw is under the hood facing the left side of the engine. If the screw is tightened too far inside the locknut the steering gear is badly worn.

Re: Engine temp not getting above 160 Deg

Bad water distribution tube made mine overheat. Overheating is not good, check the temperature of the coolant in the radiator, or with an infrared thermometer at the thermostat housing. I think you don't need to worry about it.

Re: Engine temp not getting above 160 Deg

I think you're fine, probably the thermostat is opening too soon. The coolant has to be circulating for the upper hose to be hot, you can't tell just by looking in the cap. If it wasn't, it would overheat. Sounds like your cooling system is doing its job.

That's definitely a civilian pump, the offset is very obvious in the M37 military pump.

Re: Pictures of snow plow mounts please

Carter, I just wanted to thank you for posting the pictures of your snow plow mount. I got busy and welded up a mount based on yours, for my M37 with an electric winch. I'm really happy with the ease of removing the mount with two pins, also my plow has a quick disconnect so I could have it back to ...

These trucks have 5:83 gear ratios in the the axles and were never made to travel 55mph for long periods of time, no surprise that the transfer case might get a little hot. If you want a modern truck capability you'll have to change to a different drivetrain. I like old and slow myself!

Thanks for posting more pictures, I hope you keep them coming. Agree with you that the F4 Phantom is a mean looking plane, one of my favorites too.
