Sealant used for expansion plugs
Hi folks, I read through a few threads about these plugs but couldn't find any specific references to sealants used. I am replacing the 6 plugs on the T98 access ports. I've used Permatex Aircraft sealant for most gaskets during the rebuild. However I am wondering what folks have used for these plug...

Re: Best M37 batteries
Hi folks, Well, Canadian Tire have stopped selling their version of the 51R in the AGM package. So I am looking for another replacement. The 51R comes in several different versions of Cold Cranking Amps and Cranking Amps. I imagine it's better to have a matched pair so that charging is even ? Does a...

Re: Painting rims
Hey there folks, I did some research looking for Bead Breakers that Truck Mechanics use. Spoons are the best way to go, but they are pretty expensive. I did manage to find a Hand Tool for this job. This is the Ken Tool, T 26 A It was 40 bucks to buy it here in Ontario. I used it and a 25 LB sledge t...

Re: Best M37 batteries
Hey there Folks, Reviving the Battery Conversation once again. I've seen threads where some folks prefer the YW51R Optima Yellow Tops. I purchased a Canadian Tire Eliminator ELU51R AUT ( Ultra AGM ) battery for one side of my 24 v line. It's a really small battery, however, it's cranking power is un...

Re: T98 Tranmsission Shift Tower
Yahhhhooo,
Just picked up a Gear Shift Spring and Spring Retainer Cap at Woody's 4x4 out of Vancouver, Washington.
They were recommended by the Transmission Exchange, where I purchased two sets of Gaskets and seals for this puppy. ( Along with several expansion plugs )
Great news.

Re: T98 Tranmsission Shift Tower
Hey folks,
Any ideas on where to find internal parts for the T98 ?
I need a Gear Shift Spring & Gear Shift Retainer Cap.
There is also a reference to a Spring Seat, but the parts picture doesn't match the assembly instructions.

Re: T98 Tranmsission Shift Tower
Of Course I search Google and find the manual right away.
( CDN-VEH-D114 )
It's likely the best scan I have ever seen as well, very clear pics and diagrams.

Re: T98 Tranmsission Shift Tower
Wow ! I can't believe over a year has gone by and I am finally rebuilding a used Tower Cover I picked up months ago. TX exchange has been great ! They have the Expansion Plugs and Bearing / Gasket Sets. ( I bought several extras since nothing goes right the first time ) :( I am re-assembling the Top...

Re: NP88950 Reverse Fork Shaft Removal
Sorry Andy, Been super busy at work ... I've answered you via PM. Rather long answer, but it was necessary as building the tool you need is simply complex. LOL... And yes sir, the shaft is a slightly different color material. It was one of the toughest shafts to extract. OOOOOhhhhh wait ! You're tal...

Hey there Bob, Interesting, I had a tough time finding tubes for the Truck here in Canada. I ended up sourcing Radial Tubes with TR440 Values. They sure appear to be similar to the originals. Have you guys had any past experience with substitution Tubes ? Oh, oh, I think I just found my answer thank...

Hey there guys, apologies, since we moved in June it's been all house renos ... :( If you guys are rebuilding the 88950, let me know and I can send pics of whatever part you are wondering about. My son and I pulled it apart, refinished all components to their original specs, and ordered several part...

Re: gm fuel sender part number
Hey there !
Are they 12 v or 24 ?
That's one thing I'd really like to fix...
The gauge seems to work, when I turn the ignition switch on, it runs from F to empty then back again.
I'm guessing the float is seized ?

Re: 9.00 x 16 Tubes What replacements are available ?
Wow, I was all set to order from MidWest and they cannot deliver to Canada due to restrictions from the Vendor. ( TireCo ) Their Canadian distributor specializes in Volkswagon parts so this is not in their catalog. :( I did find a Surplus Store ( Colemans) who has 9.00 x 16 tubes with a TR440 valve ...

Re: Rust prevention inside rims
Hey there guys, I had two rims Blasted and Painted lately. I removed original NDTs by Reciprocating saw, which was the only way to get them off. ( it was hard to see where the wheel ended and tire began ) There was a great deal of rust between the flaps and wheel surface. This is what I'd like to av...
