Re: Insurance

Yes, companies are NOT people.

On that vein, neither are governments.

Re: Fall in the Uwharries

One of the things that's driving me batty is that the M37 needs steering work and has been waiting in line for the garage since late summer. The Carryall project keeps expanding! I should rename it to "Pandora's wild ride". The goal is to at least get it back on the road before Christmas. ...

Re: Fall in the Uwharries

I wonder if its the stars and things? I bought my M37 and its all military looking. The carryall is just this old hulking dull green thing. (I'm workin' on it.)

Re: Fall in the Uwharries

Its been said before and its bizarrely true. M37s are chick magnets! Women who would probably scurry across the street if I was coming down the sidewalk will actually come up and ask for a ride if I'm driving my M37. And even more bizarre, is that if I'm driving my carryall? No effect. I'm still a b...

Re: engine dies after 3 min

C'mon, To be fair he did the jerry can test. And now he has 1/2 the issues to worry about. His engine & carb are fine.

Re: engine dies after 3 min

The idea is to make it as simple as possible. I'd just plumb a flexible hose from the Jerry tank to the carb. (Get a hose barb to screw into your carb) Once you are set up, cover the Jerry tank hole as much as possible and slightly blow your air hose in there to build enough pressure to start the si...

Re: engine dies after 3 min

Before going nuts, try running it from a Jerry can sitting on your fender with just a tube siphoning gas into your carb.

What happens when you try that?

Re: Happy Thanksgiving

Oe thing I'm thankful for is your writeup on how to set the preload on Dodge wheel bearings! Read it, used it, loved it. Wheels have not fallen off!

Thanks!

Re: Repacking front wheel bearings?

I just went through this on my Carryall. First thing you need to watch for is oil or grease in your steering knuckle. If there's oil in there, you'll need to replace the seal inside the axle tube. This is why I started my project. That and the brakes failed. Don't bother taking the drums off the hub...

It looks like Midwest Military is getting a run of NEW drums made up. I saw stuff about this on Facebook.

Re: Fuel tank rust removal

Well, now I don't know.

Looking at the chart, I'd say you'd end up with really rusty tools and very shiny pennies. Must be some other chemical reaction going on that I don't know about.

That's what I was thinking. I think the chemistry is the same. The old who's who on the ionic nobility chart thing.

Re: Fuel tank rust removal

Never tried vinegar & pennies. But I wonder if vinegar & zinc would work? Zinc is what people use on boats.
