Nick, Glad you had a fun cruise. These rigs sure are attention getters. Let's hope the big snows are done. I hope to get mine out this weekend and road check my new pinion seal. Theres a big lifted Chevy Suburban running around my neighborhood thats needs some competition 8) Yeah I don't think we a...

Encounter

Yeah, by the way the guy opened his part of the conversation with "you know anybody with one of these for sale?" I think he was hinting around if I'd sell mine. It didn't dawn on me of that fact until later. My truck isn't for sale, but I'd probably let it go for a large sum of cash. So, I...

Beginner....

Best advice I can give you friend is take it slow, do not put a time limit on things, and most of all, DO NOT look at the big picture! Work one project at a time, even if its as simple as sweeping out the bed. It all adds up in the end. If you can get the thing to crank, thats a good thing as it tel...

Funny who you meet......

I took my truck out yesterday for a short drive. I had to wait till the wife got home before I could take off(kids were playing with their friend in the front yard and didn't want to go), so I just drove up and down our street to kill some time . Anyway I'm at the stop sign about to do a U turn when...

Brakes

Just some advise if you are going to work on the brakes. Save yourself some real headaches and if need be simply replace the wheel cylinders. When I did mine, I took a look at the old rusty ass ones I yanked off. I personally can't understand the logic of trying to resurrect some old rusty POS wheel...

Gear oil

I don't think you can over fill the diff's. Just fill until the gear oil barely starts to ooze out, then reinstall the plug. Thats what I do.

Compressor

Definitely find out how much air the blaster uses before deciding on the compressor. Just a guess here but I'd say unless you have a compressor that puts out about 10CFM minimum, you will be waiting more than you're blasting. Its one reason I dumped my old Sears 33 gallon compressor. I think it only...

Hibernation

Glad to hear you got to work on your truck. My truck hasn't moved since January, when I got it stuck in a snow drift during that big storm. I've been meaning to take the truck out for a little drive, but with all the snow we had and the recent rain, its just been a better plan to leave it in the gar...

Hills

Mine isn't that great on steeper hills. I usually have to dump it into 3rd to climb the steep ones. Mind you my truck's engine hasn't been overhauled so I'm sure that is probably a big reason.....I don't recall having to drop it into 2nd on any of the hills around here, then again I don't haul much ...

NOS Windshields

I doubt you'll find NOS windshields at the show. If you do you had better bring some cash. You will however probably find some of the nice repro windshields that I think are being made in Korea. They are of very good quality and are an exact fit. Those are what I put on my truck and I will challenge...

sure you want a .380 with the availability of the ammo right now? i just bought a sig in .380 and cant find ammunition anywhere. Find an indoor shooting range, and you will find plenty of ammo. We have one near us and since they are a business they must get first dibs on handgun ammo as they have s...

Perfection

Can't help you on the primer, etc, however what you said about being a perfectionist, I'd like to make a comment to if I may. If looking for perfection in a vehicle, I think you've picked the wrong one. Army trucks I doubt looked perfect (one reason that attracts me to them) when they were new. They...

cause some retard here decided that that is what meets code, and so thats what is required to be "legal". I'm thinking a nice, simple 6-8" trench and some PVC will do though, and I'll yank the sucker up when I go to move. That's usually how it works, the guy making the rules is...

Re: Buy it...

As long as the purchase money isn't being taken away from something important, like bills, or a vacation, etc, I say by it and let the wife get over it. I see so many posts like this where the wife MUST give her OK first. I can't live my life that way, and I don't expect my wife to either. We're al...
