Re: Veteran's Day Parade Jacksonville, FL 2014
Thanks guys, it was a fun day and a great first experience. I wish I would have gotten a pic of all of us in the truck but didn't think about it till it was over with. Some of my co-workers said they saw a glimpse of the truck on the news that evening but I didn't see it. I realize Jacksonville is a...

Veteran's Day Parade Jacksonville, FL 2014
I have moved to the area here about 6 months ago and have gotten in with a few local MVPA folks. They asked me to drive in the Veteran's Day Parade and somehow I lucked up and got to drive the Grand Marshal's on my first time driving in a parade. They boarded my truck 5 minutes before the parade too...

Re: Dash Markings
52 M42, thanks for the pics. The one I was confused on ended up being the winch plate. I Dont have a winch so. . that explains that. Lol. I saw the decal for the fording plug. I've never seen a decal for that. During my sanding process I found it spray painted once with. . maybe 1 inch and again lat...

Re: Info needed on transmission parts
I got more mine from Sid Beck before he passed on. Not sure who ended up with his inventory. Charles Talbert may know a source.
Good luck.

Re: Dash Markings
I sent a PM, any pics would be appreciated. In particular as I mentioned just left of the glove compartment where the round knockout is for the defrost I think... there was a warning to install the ford plug before fording or something like that. I also have four holes that are a vertical rectangle ...

Dash Markings
Can someone point me to a reference or pics concerning the dash or instrument panel markings? I know there were a lot of changes over the years. I am looking mainly for the fording plug warning and what placard would be attached to the dash left of the steering column and right of the pub plate. I t...

Re: Windshield Hold Down Brackets
52 M-42,
I received a picture of what I had been looking for today... so I am good to go. It doesn't look like it can be in place and have the CCKW hard top to me though... will take some measuring with the info I received today to figure it out.
Thanks,
Mark

Re: Windshield Hold Down Brackets
Thanks, I will let you know if something else turns up. I guess I could cut one off of an otherwise trashed outer frame or make from scratch with a sketch.
Thanks again,
Mark

Re: Canvas/Hardtop Questions ???
For what its worth, my 53 has what appeared to be a flat bar with threads cut into it that ran the full width of the windshield frame.(inside) I found this out after I took the home made top off and attempted to install the corner pieces for a canvas top. There were several rivet holes along the top...

Windshield Hold Down Brackets
Can anyone point me in the right direction to get a set of the hold down brackets or loops that are welded to the top of the windshield frame? I have the bumpers on the hood and the spring loaded hooks on the hood. Mine like many others after their military service have has them removed to facilitat...
