Re: Draft Pads

I'm sure too. AB was as honest and forth right as they come. If he was made aware that something he was selling didn't or couldn't be made to work as advertised; it went straight to the dumpster. I actually recall a few times hearing him make that statement and saw stuff go in the dumpster. Same thi...

Re: Draft Pads

I'd say you had the repro ones if nothing helped pliability; they simply aren't made from the right material. The NOS ones could be boiled in water to warm them and would go on easy. Not these new ones, personally I can't understand why any honest seller would offer these, if we had stock of the rep...

Re: M37 Rear Receiver Hitch

We would do some additional reinforcement gussets from the back side of the receiver plate to the cross member. This way there would not be so much load riding against only the attachment bolts .

Re: axle shafts need a shim...

Charles, What you say is true but, the depth setting is not a set in stone, cannot be moved point. It is the starting point for the entire process. Once the final endplay is set and you die check the gears if the pattern is too low or high you will have to move the pinion in or out a hair. And then...

Re: axle shafts need a shim...

Fellows, this is why a precision installation and gearing set up are absolutely NECESSARY with any differential. There is any number of little issues that can cause what has been described here. One that is very often over looked is the pinion depth setting. The spec is different on every ring and p...

Re: Wanted...brake shoes

I'll add this to the conversation, the lining material on some of these new shoes we have purchased recently is of very poor quality. We have been replacing it with a high quality lining for use on our projects that get drum brakes. We have been offering a choice for buyers who wish to purchase shoe...

EXTREME DUTY LOCK-OUT HUBS

We have recently completed a run of high quality lock-out hubs for M37 and all variants. These are made 100% in the USA, right here in North Carolina. They are available in clear or black anodized coating. All internals are machined from 4140 alloy and heat treated for strength and durability. These...

Re: Valve Cover Gaskets

Rubber or cork. Yes. That would seem to make sense with the R and C. Thank you. I will add that the cork ones are the better choice. Rubber ones are very firm and are prone to dripping oil, whereas the cork gaskets compress and it's much easier to get a leak free job. Secret is paying attention to ...

Re: Rebuilding the cowl vent

I found the truck on the website but the pictures need an app that I do not have to open and I don't run flash unless I absolutely have to. I am interested and also curious since you mention machining but what I am looking at is sheet metal? The photos you need to see are at the bottom of page 1 wh...

Re: Rear Hub Sleeve

We typically repair and install sleeves on the outer nut flanges. We have had far greater success with this method than using so-called new nuts. They may be new, however the ones I have seen are far from quality pieces that a seal mates with successfully, we never had any luck with these stopping o...

Re: Rebuilding the cowl vent

We have done it, all components machined using a CNC mill. Still have the files and can do it again. Comes ready to weld in on the cowl sheet metal. There is pictures on our website, the piece went into the strata blue M37 that was sold at Barrett-Jackson a few years back. We can help you, give us a...

Re: Carburettor question

I expect you also have bottom casting issues. 99.99% of what we see here are not ground to precision flat. We precision grind these surfaces on each one we build, takes care of having to run with the choke partially on in almost every case, however there could be other issues also in play. We look a...

Re: M37 Transmission Discovery

The synchro used in the early M37 trans is similar, yet VERY different. The early unit sliding clutch has a groove the fork fits into when assembled. The 420 synchro clutch fork engagement area is much thinner, and as already discussed the fork has the groove in conjunction with the nylon inserts. T...
