Re: 1953 M37

It'll be nice to see your progress. You've accomplished quite a lot already; there shouldn't be that much left to do.

Don't forget the camera!

Re: 2 Mile High M37

Thank you for the invite, but western Washington to Durango is is about 1250 miles by the most direct route. While I am sure my truck would make it, I'm pretty sure I don't want to spend that much time driving in the desert (I grew up in the desert and on beaches and I'm pretty much done with both)....

Re: Burlington Iowa Steamboat Days Parade.

Great pictures, Tim. Glad to hear that you enjoyed the parade and that folks at the parade enjoyed your truck. The truck is looking better all the time. That is the nice thing about these trucks; all the little improvements add up over time. People who only see the truck once or twice a year really ...

Nice job, wvcharlie! I'm sure that is much more convenient place to adjust brakes from than under the truck.

Re: LICENCE PLATE MOUNTING

I like those ideas, Tim. It looks like a good way to comply with the laws and yet quickly conceal them for parades and displays.

Re: Pioneer Tools.

Bob; Why all this 4th. strap stuff? Nothing better to do than count straps? If I were showing the M at a show where a judge actually knew what he is looking at I would remove it along with the plate but I just ran out and snapped a shot last night and that's what I posted. The judge at Aberdeen had...

Re: Pioneer Tools.

The axe looks right, the Pick / Mattock looks right (sharp point on one end and wide blade on the other end) and if the machete is 18" long that is what I used too.

Looks like all you are going to need is a shovel and straps.

I'll send you some pictures when I get home.

Re: Pioneer Tools.

The Pick / Mattock is just a standard one with a wooden handle (the wooden handle might be hard to find). The shovel and axe are unique (not impossible to find but not very common). Supposedly you only need 3 straps, but I find 5 work much better, 2 longer ones and 3 standard short ones. John at Mid...

Re: Rock Auto Closeout Parts, Power Wagon, M37?

Well, it looks like the wheel cylinders, wiper blades and clutch pilot bushing are all really inexpensive. I'd definately go get a half dozen of those wiper blades if one of those stores was near me. :D

Re: Choppa 63 M37 B1 (BUILD UPDATE)

Rome wasn't built in a day, and these trucks can take awhile to restore correctly.

It's always nice to have these trucks running, but it is much nicer to have them running and dependable.

Congratulations on completing those two projects; it a very good foundation on which to continue improvement.

Re: Introduction, Just jumped in!

That is Mount Rainier in the photos, Gary. Those photos were all taken about 50 miles outside of Seattle, WA near a place called North Bend, WA. We were in the Cascade Range behind Mount Si. I used to have a 66 acre parcel up there that we would drive up to on old logging roads. It was a nice easy d...
