Re: Maybe this isn't Technical, but......

Not putting a $50.00 heater in half of the 110,000 trucks would have saved 2,750,000.00 dollars.

Re: My 15 minutes of fame !

I would go Hollywood, except some character - C. Thomas Howell - already has my name. We did try to bring in the other odd items into the shots. Notice the ammo trailer in the shed that came from GL., the mule which was a private deal. I took the 14 ft bed off the five ton and put it on a bob tail C...

The piece I am standing by is a Japanese Type 97 tankette chassis. Video taken on our farm here in Easte...

Re: my proposed M43 paint scheme

Not to be a downer, but if it is highly modified - go for it. But painting it a odd color will make it worth less back out on the market.
I painted a 57 Studebaker Silver Hawk that I had black, and swore I would never paint anything black again. Terrible to keep clean.

Re: "Jerry Can" strap??

Color will hardly vary. The M-series will have the spring loaded buckle. And WWII era webbing will have the old style sliding buckle.

Most everything out there will be modern production. You just have to watch for proper color and proper snap.

Re: Unpainted Bolts when Restoring?

This is just a SWAG. But maybe there were some bolts unpainted when they left the assembly line. Most of the M-37s that we recieve have been painted 2 or 3 times, so that every bolt would have been painted eventually.

7/16" toothed periphery washers

Found my last secret cache of 7/16" washers. Had them hid away. No one is making them anymore. 90 cents each. May have about 100 left.
