Re: new 24v electric pump makes dash hand primer dump fuel
Mark, I think Just has answered your questions regarding fuel pressure and the need for a regulator, and NAM VET covered pictures. You'd be smart not to run the truck until you have the regulator installed. Here's a few more tidbits. The fuel system and the brake system are two separate systems and ...

Re: Engine Rebuild Costs
Hi Guys, Thanks for the posts........good info! Jim, your option certainly has its merits, to be sure. Unfortunately, I don't have a T-245 core to supply back, but I hear what you're saying. I do know where one or two rebuild candidates can be found, just have to factor their purchase cost into it i...

Engine Rebuild Costs
Hi Guys, Has anyone had their 230 rebuilt recently? I'm wondering what ballpark machine shop prices are these days to refurb a long block. I realized parts needed will add to the cost, but assuming I walk in with a good block, crank, rods, flywheel, etc........what's the going rate these days? Where...

Re: Map light socket
Hi 06,
I bought a NOS one from John at Midwest last year..........I believe he still has some. I think it was $15, but doesn't come with the cap..........just the socket and wire lead. The Amphenol socket won't have the wire lead attached.
regards,
bob

Re: Need help from everyone!
Hi Manfrom, Interesting dilemma you got there. Anything is possible with these trucks, but unless someone changed the cab..........it's a B1. It has the reinforced cab cowl side in front of the driver's door and holes for the latch behind the door. If it were mine I'd remove the undercoating on the ...

Re: Let's Talk Paint Some More.........
Hi Travis, I'm sure there are multiple ways to look for hood numbers, and to a great extent it depends on the white paint he applied. Meaning is it oil based, an epoxy, etc....and how thick it is? If it's a real light coat of crappy paint some mineral spirits on a rag (damp, not soaking wet) might j...

Let's Talk Paint Some More.........
Hi Guys, My favorite topic..........but here's something completely different. First, let me tell you where I'm coming from on this. There's nothing MV related that gives me more of a "woody" more than vehicles wearing their original paint and markings. They just scream history. So when I ...

Re: Map light socket
Hi Elwood, Yeah, with all the junk I've collected I can see how you'd think that. I've seen them many times at the meets, but was always focused on the hard-core M37 parts, so I don't have much in the way of "accessories". In case anyone is interested the trouble light we're talking about ...

Re: Map light socket
Hi Elwood,
I don't have one myself, but I'll keep an eye out in the coming months when I hit the east coast meets. If I see any..........I'll pick them up. Even if you get one before that seems folks are always looking for them.

bob

Here's a pic of the original Cannon and new Amphenol dust caps. Close enough!
These Amphenol's are widely available, I got mine on Ebay for $20 for 5 shipped free, so $4 each.
