I finally found a source for the cap with the chain on it for this connector. It's an Amphenol cap, not a Cannon, as Cannon connectors in this series are long gone, but it's identical. Once I get it in-hand and verify it's correct I'll post the PN and where to get them.

Hi Guys, Does paint stick any better to the nickel/copper lines than it does to stainless? Inline Tube can copy your old lines in either stainless or steel and send both sets back to you in just a few days. No, the bottom of the jack is a flat plate and the vertical housing is welded to the plate with a continuous bead. I'm guessing it wasn't meant to come apart once assembled.
