GOOD MORNING, I also used the head plug. v/o #6 and the return to the thermo housing. I put a ball valve at the head connection. keeps the hot water away from the heater during the summer.

GOOD MORNING, I just did a ring job on my M, due to "SANDY", I used alignment pins (2) in the bolt holes to set the head on straight. worked for me.
