Bolt torque with lube
Hi, I need some opinions, maybe I'm overthinking this. I know a lot of members here use sealant on head bolts that go through water jackets, what concerns me is that this practice lubricates the thread and has a significant effect on the torque that should be applied to the bolt, if the specified to...

Re: Lock washers
Thanks guys,
Two great options, as long as I can get non-Chinese hardware for critical areas. I am also going to check aircraft suppliers for AN hardware..just thought of that.

Lock washers
Hi,
Does anyone know a source for quality lock washers for the con rod bolts? I've had cheap ones break in other applications, cannot afford to let that happen in my engine. NOS would be great of course.
Thanks,
Bob R

Re: Recovery Time
MM,
I had mine removed back in 2006, do you have to go on the iodine pills for a while? Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Re: VJ Day Today
In my opinion ISIS pales in significance compared to the threat NAZI Germany posed to the world during WWII and the Soviets during the Cold War. ISIS is is a bunch of cowardly terrorist bastards, don't flatter them by raising them to the level of the tremendous foes we had in recent history. ISIS wi...

Re: Got oil changed, seized engine :(
Jim, That sucks. Reminds me of when a buddy of mine picked up his shiny new 2003 Mach 1 from the Ford Dealer. They never filled the cooling system, so when he started driving it home it overheated and locked up. But it was fine once it cooled down and they added coolant. I'm hoping you're as lucky ...

I've hit the limit on my list of words to omit, so now I just use Dodge M37 although I do miss some listings that way.

Re: Tapped head bolt locations
Yup, I was also going by the photo in TM9-1840A with all bolt heads the same. It is a curious thing but it doesn't seem nearly as bad as the various manuals for my Willys MB, WWII manuals were hastily put together, they much improved post war. Thanks again for the assist.

Tapped head bolt locations
Hi,
I hope this doesn't sound dumb but what are the locations for the three tapped head bolts according to the torque sequence numbers of the head? The head on my M was removed before I was able to mark the locations.
Thank you.

Re: Dodge Trucks dual chamber master cylinder question
Looks promising, I need to find a spec sheet for it and see if the mounting holes would align with the original cab mount.

Re: Con rod hardware
Thanks Elwood,
I think that is the way to go too, any failure with these bits of hardware would be catastrophic.
