Re: Very rich after carb rebuild
So I think I found my problem, I installed the one check ball upside down. I hope that will fix it. Can't test it cause I seem to have broke the fuel pump with the hand primer! Dang it. Got a 24V electric on the way. It always starts out with something simple then when your done, you've rebuilt the ...

Very rich after carb rebuild
So I just rebuilt the carb on my '53. Then left the key on and toasted the coil. Fixed that and added a pertronix ignition. Back to running again. Now my issue. At idle it is running really rich. So much it loads up in just a few seconds. Open up the throttle and it clears out and runs well. First q...

Re: Leaky Fuel pump diaphragm
Can you run an electric pump for the fuel bypassing the machanical pump, and keep the mechanical pump on the engine for the vacuum side? Worst case here you loose the diaphram and wipers?
Not at all familiar with these pumps. Just reading here and wondering.

Re: Carb Rant
Ok so pulled off the fuel line, 2 pumps of the primer lever and I had a ton of fuel coming out. Put it back on and pumped the lever again. Could hear fuel going into the carb. Tried to start it and got nothing, not even an attempt to start. That is new. Shot some ether in the intake and nothing, not...

Re: Carb Rant
I will try that. easy enough! thanks! The rest of the system is an unknown to me, but looks to be newer. There is an inline filter added, and it came with an old pump (maybe the one on it is newer?) Guess I could pull the filter too, it's just the metal canister inline hose barb type filter. It's be...

Carb Rant
So I'm partially venting, partially looking for experienced help. First thing I did with my 53 was rebuild the carb. Got the midwest military kit, pretty nice kit. Carb was pretty bad, lots of 'mud' in the carb, I don't know how it even ran at all before. Accelerator pump was stuck, everything else ...

SN on the frame is the same as the tag. 80250754 Almost gone though, looks like there was a snow plow mount welded to the frame at one point, just barley catches the stamped numbers! Responsible agency tag says: Responsible agency - Procurement - Depot Maintenance Chassis - ORD CORPS - ORD CORPS Bod...

Re: My first M37
Glad to be here! Thanks! I'm 90% sure the top is home made. But Very well done. The original soft top pipe across the back was cut off, and 2 pipes were welded to the windshield frame to support the middle of the roof. The corners and sides are made by slitting and forming tin, then finishing with f...

Brought this guy home yesterday. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b31/oros35/20150712_165123_zpsiyh5riay.jpg It runs and drives, no brakes, carb needs help. Body is pretty solid and straight, little rust in typical places but nothing real bad. Frame and all are good, just needs paint. Home made har...
