Re: LU4 winch ?

I went out in the shop and pulled a top plate and came up with 14.5" center to center on the top holes where the plate bolts down.

Re: Cheap Repaint.....And I Mean CHEAP!!

I went to a big car show recently, and there was a Corvette with a rattle can paint job. You could not tell the difference.

Re: M37/ Powerwagon

It is technically not a Power Wagon, but I have restored a WC 3/4 ton and an M37 and a 46 Power Wagon. And you can almost do all three blindfolded. I guess you could say that the M37 is the brother to the Power Wagon, same genes, just a little differant look.

Re: Strange Spare Tire Mount

Okay, it looks like they took the door spare tire carrier off of a B1 and bolted it to the end of the bed. I would say that it would still be very stressful on the back of the bed side.

Re: M151 heater install

Depending on where you put the heater, I have had to unscrew and rotate the output duct. It puts out so much heat, I have never bothered with a defrost system.

Re: Shop Vise

The best thing I did was mount the vise to a free standing petestal - a 5" pipe welded onto a 20" truck rim. Most times a good big vise mounted on the edge of a bench is no stronger than the bench.

Re: 24 Volts to 12 Volts How is this done ??

If you have a fairly stock M37 DON'T DO IT, your much better off as far as value, ect to leave it origional.
However on the otherhand, when you swap in a modern engine and want updates, then switch to 12v.

Re: Getting the run-flats out of a Michelin ?

I tried today useing the motor picker, and it worked fine. Just had to coax it with a crow bar. I hate the run flat lubricant.

Re: Getting the run-flats out of a Michelin ?

Chris, your right, never thought about the inner tube being needed on the original split ring wheel.

There should be more available from BOYCE equipment at 800-748-4269, they were asking $300.00 each.
I would call quick as the supply was limited.

Re: Getting the run-flats out of a Michelin ?

Wondering if the rims on a WDX or M37 will fit these tires WITH the run-flats in them ? ?
What would be so bad about running the run-flats IF the rims fit ? ? ?
