Re: My 1952 Dodge M37 re-building process
Short update: Opening the brake cylinder (because no braking at all), releveled a lot of corrosion inside. Just thinking about purchasing a new one instead of going for the repair kit. The fuel pump is not working, no pressure. But we saw this coming. I will not judge the carburetor's performance du...

Re: Does the M37 share the same pioneer tools with the WC's...?
Seems so. The info I have doesn't declare if the tools changed from WW2 to Vietnam. Probably even the M715 carried the same ones.

Adapter for a fuel pump in a WC engine.....?
I have a no-original pump installed and it's not working properly. To be honest, I was not expecting magic to happen as the idea was to use it for cranking the engine, idle a bit and check if everything was tighten enough. It's a Weber, but cannot tell the model....(like I care). https://live.static...

Re: Does the M37 share the same pioneer tools with the WC's...?
Thanks for the info. Good point on the shape change. I checked online and indeed there's a difference. Both at the blade's point and a folding in the upper part of the steel where you step on. Just for enriching the info.... Shovel_comparison.jpg Also the Humvee's seems to be slimmer. I'm not going ...

Does the M37 share the same pioneer tools with the WC's...?
I did some research and I cannot find the concrete answer. As you might know here in Europe WC's are extremely popular. Almost all sites here list the tools (shovel, pick and axe) for WC51/52 or sometimes as "WW2 truck/Jeep tools". I know the rack is different in the WW2 trucks, but I cann...

Re: Engine paint color
Indeed it was silver out from factory.
I’ve read in the MOPAR forum that the color dulls over time and acquires a pearly tone.
Sounds neat, but I prefer OD.

Re: My 1952 Dodge M37 re-building process
I'm installing NOS harnesses, not making them from scratch. Even though I don't see complexity in the addition of a line for a possible fan, decades ago I've driven the truck (not this one) in Argentina's countryside (pampas) where easily temps can get up to 33ºC -real feel can be much higher as no ...

Re: My 1952 Dodge M37 re-building process
I've been traveling a lot for both work and family vacations, so I have a few weeks now, before going abroad again, to dedicate to the truck. Repair and specific restoration tasks have gone thru the roof in terms of costs, for which I have been slowing down the pace. Also here in Spain is the annual...

Re: M37B3 Project
Rebuilding the tank can be expensive (wasn't aware until I received the cost estimation from several places  ). I think that's why a lot of folks get a S10 tank as it will fit flawlessly (needs neck extension tho). The old Econoline is worth to try, I believe it's the same as the Bronco. As...

Keep it up, mate. Even doing upgrades sometimes can be harder than looking for the old stuff that is no longer produced.
Part of the game.

Re: M37 door marking question
I know this is an old one, but I stumbled upon these two images from Alamy site. There're dated from April 1969. Door and tailgate markings varied in No and color between units. Just to enrich the discussion. https://c7.alamy.com/comp/2HP7614/vietnam-war-era-photos-truck-hill-10-april-1969-pd-photo-...

Re: M37 Horn Button
You have done a very nice job putting pictures with the correspondent explanations. I wish all threads here were like yours. Fixing the horn is one of the last things to do in my list, but the steering has a lot of play so probably we're taking the time now before assembling the body onto the chassi...

Re: the $3000 Fuel Filter
Let me get it straight, the water separator is intended for using with E10-type gasoline?
For what I've read in boat forums it is not THAT effective.
But maybe I'm wrong.
