Gillispie paint hardener question
Good day to everyone. Glad to be back on the site. Was down since about the last of March due to a pretty nasty virus from the SS website (among several other life-changing things). Lost a lot of data due to the virus. I am in the process of finalizing the bed on my M-37 (I have several pictures to ...

Re: Identification Number Help Needed
The engine ID number is located on the driver's side at the top front of the engine just beneath the head. There is a boss there that it is stamped into. If it is original, it should start with the numbers T245-*****. The oval tag is the body serial number and the number you located on the frame rai...

Re: Oil filter confusion.
I had the same thing with my jeep I restored 4 years ago. That filter fits the cj2a housing among others. The Jr. Military filter housing was the same on all MB, GPW, WC Dodges, M-37 Dodges and I think the M-38 Jeeps. And it is a #1100. Wix uses 51100 I believe. Not sure about Fram and others.

Re: Data plates on Glove box
Yea, the whole vehicle is quite rusty indeed, but mostly surface rust issues. I will have a small fortune invested in stripper wheels! It won't look the same when I am finished! Good luck on yours also. Keep us posted and as always Pics, Pics, Pics!

Re: Title a vehicle in TN with only a bill of sale?
Talked to a county court clerk yesterday and she said she does older vehicles all the time. You will have to have a bill of sale signed by both parties, the address and phone number of the seller and the VIN needs to be on the bill of sale. Vehicles older than 30 years are quite easy to do according...

Title a vehicle in TN with only a bill of sale?
Good evening. Anyone here from Tennessee title an ex-military vehicle with a bill of sale only? I have a 2 Dodges and a Jeep and neither came with a title. I restored a Jeep in 2008 and went through a fairly short process but don't recall the details. I have heard that Tennessee has clamped down on ...

Re: New restoration thread
Thanks Tim. Shouldn't that plate be on the outside of the bed then? And why only on the driver's bed side?

Re: New restoration thread
Thanks Rick. I had assumed that those sets of holes were for antennae mounts since a former M-42. Thanks for the information. I have tried multiple times and was unable to get a response from him. Do you have any idea what that reinforcing plate would have been used for and there are 2 sets of verti...

Re: New restoration thread
Worked on the truck bed all day again. Really making progress just not at the rate that I want to. Got the fuel tank patched after sanding the pin hole areas to roughen them up and used some Liquid Steel which is a 2-part epoxy which you knead until the color is consistant. It worked great on my WC-...

Re: Data plates on Glove box
David's plates are superb especially his WW 2 stuff just takes a long time to get in touch with him. If you need the plate in question (and you are correct. It is the one in the right upper corner) you can also order one from VPW as they have an entire section on data plates and look like they may b...
