Re: Master cylinder recommendations

Did you have to "bend" the input shaft slightly per the Ugly Truckling instructions?

PS magazine had some good articles on the tie-downs.

Re: Battery Box setup

Here are two pictures of just the battery box - without the separate battery tray (that the batteries sit in), without the top hinged lid, and without the rubber grommet assemblies where the battery cables go through the box. This battery box sits on the floor of the cab under the passenger seat. Th...

Re: Hood and door star size

I believe the guidance is that the National Symbol (5-pointed star of lusterless white, Color Chip No. 37875) will normally be applied to all tactical and combat vehicles and appropriate equipment in CONUS and overseas when issued to U.S. Army units to the front, rear, both sides, and top of the veh...

Re: Transfer Case Output Seal

I also need to replace the seals on my 1952 M37 transfer case so I did some looking. I used the M37 SNL G-741 parts manual which listed the number for the transfer case output flange seals (quantity 4 used) as Chrysler 927367 (CC-927367). On the NAPA website I used that Chrysler part number 927367 a...

Re: Military Vehicles Magazine

Wow! Your member probably has a copy but I just recently finished reading the book "The Bofors Gun" by Terry Gander, published in 2014 by the Naval Institute Press, ISBN 10: 1783462027ISBN 13: 9781783462025. May be out of print but ABE books has used copies for sale. Really great book on t...

Re: Carburetor Rebuild Kit

Good call. The picture of Mike's K6083 kit shows a pump plunger rod and seal, but not as a complete assembly with a spring and piston attached to the plunger rod as shown as item 64-90S (superseded by 64-134S) on the ETW1 Carter parts list in the linked Electronic Instruction Sheet on Mike's K6083 k...

Military Vehicles Magazine

I've got a beef with AIM publications who own Military Vehicles Magazine (MVM). Two months ago, I got my issue and was very disappointed. Sadly, I think that that publication has been ruined. An introduction page in the magazine chronicled the changes. They combined MVM with their other magazine Mil...

Re: Insignia's

After reading many articles on collecting military memorabilia over the years I would not alter, try to mount them, remove any tags, or do anything else to the patches in any way. They need to be kept as original and untouched as possible. There are quite a few military and private museums that feat...

Re: Carburetor Rebuild Kit

If you're interested in a rebuild kit from Mike's I would contact their tech support e-mail below. Their website lists their carburetor rebuild kit K6083 for the Dodge Military truck Carter B&B with governor ETW1 carburetor. If you're interested in their rebuild kit I would contact them via e-ma...

The M37 G741 parts manual lists them both as the same part number with the same nominal length of 7". Following is some additional information from a web search. Manufacturer Daimler Chrysler part number 1188079 Ordnance part number 7320632 Hose Assembly, Nonmetallic NSN 4720-00-732-0632 FIRST ...

Re: Fuel additives ?

You might consider topping off with fresh gas, and then adding a fuel treatment product to the gas to clear out any varnish in your fuel lines or carburetor (I know STP makes this and I think so does Pennzoil, Puroil, maybe Bardahl, etc). I would then burn the tank out, fill with fresh gas, and then...

Re: M37 door marking question

Thank you, Sebastian! Yes, that was the picture from the article (I can't remember what magazine the picture was in; possibly Military Vehicles Magazine?) Anyway, it narrows it down to Vietnam and a USMC military police battalion (my M37 was also a USMC vehicle at one point; it has the "papercl...

M37 door marking question

Attached is a drawing (a picture was too big to post) of a door marking on my 1952 M37. Under the big white Army National Star was a marking in red that was over what looks like USMC Forest Green color paint. It is a red circle that is broken horizontally across the middle with a red "110"...
