Re: whats the difference between eary and late np420 trans
Is there a difference in bolt pattern though? Also, though not to try and hijack the OP's post, is there much difference between the earlies and the SM420?

Re: Hubs
Thanks, I guess I need to crunch the numbers and see which will be affordable now and in the long run with my M, just upgrade the brakes, or see about a junkyard axle swap (hopefully grabbing the rims with the axles).

Re: Hubs
Sorry for the late reply.
I was hoping more for updated and easier to find brake parts and ring and pinion below 4.89 and still being able to run the locking rings.

Hubs
Is there a way to convert the hubs that the wheels bolt to, to be able to mounted on, say dana 60/44 axles with the 6 or 8 lug pattern?

Trust me, I avoid the oc nowadays. That stuff really hurts, a lot.

The Saga of my 53
So first a video and the some pictures! This is an airforce truck that is in darn good shape, other than the wiring and now distinct lack of any brakes. Re: Who Makes Fuel Pump Rebuild Kits with Modern Diaphragms?
Tuko thank yo for that pic, definitely helped me with my bolt selection from Autozone. Add the civy style pump today, the truck runs like a champ and stops like the old dreadnaughts...(not all).

Re: Who Makes Fuel Pump Rebuild Kits with Modern Diaphragms?
I'm under 40 and I have the same issue with people who only look to the computer for help and won't pull the actual manual because it's to "old" or some such. Anyways, my question with the pumps is this: I'm pretty sure the one that was on mine was deleted, and I got a civilian replacement...

Re: Fuel for my M37
I might have to go to the local airfield to get a jerry can of av gas if the M's like the lead then. There unfortunately are no stations out here in my part of cali that don't have ethanol in the gas.

Re: Rewiring
For the sake of compatibility, I'm going to keep it 12v. I think for most of the frame wiring, the diagram should suffice, its the altenator and such I might have to use another manual for. I just order the industrial six manual from VPW, and I hoping it has a diagram for that.... I will definitely ...

Rewiring
So, I think I got a truck that was thoroughly abused in this department. I just want to know what is the general best way to go about rewiring one of these and if I'm going to need to take her down to the frame? About the only things that work are the ignition system, the head lights (wrong voltage ...

Re: Changing points
I must have got lucky. First time dealing with points and pulling the distro, kinda eyeballed it and once I got the fuel issue sorta solved (enough to verify it wasn't a spark issue) fired right off. I will agree with making notes though, I have no idea what has been done to my M other than a poorly...

Re: Replacement coil?
So the Accel coil works. Other issue with the fuel system are keeping the truck from staying on though.....
