Re: Custom Gears

That's my main reason as well. I'll just start setting asside money for a few things down the road after my PCS.

Re: Custom Gears

Any particular reason? I know the calculation doesn't account for available horsepower and torque, but are these flatties that anemic? Or are you saying it because that's the only other option put out by Bob and VPW?

Custom Gears

Hey, I'm looking at trying to get custom gearing for our 9 5/8" difs. Preferably in the 4.56 range. Does anyone know of any places that do such work. I called Bob Stahl about 2 weeks ago and he was out of 4.89s, I haven't called vpw yet about their's but I want the numerically lower gears so I ...

Re: 750x16

Okay, thanks. I was wondering because most of the 235/85r16's are in the 33-34" range, and first appearances it looks like the 9.00x16 tubes are to big for said tires. I was thinking of running the 7.50 tubes in them because I can't seem to find anything that in between the two sizes.

750x16

Is there any issue with running this size tire on our M's?

Re: Tune Up

If O'reily's is near you, they'll have everything you need. I got my cap, rotor, points and condesor from them. I had already gotten wires, coil and plugs from advanced, but I should have gotten those from O'reily's, as they seem to be cheaper and have a better parts selection.

Re: Ignition Problems...

I have mine set to the .02 as stated in the manual. Works fine. I will admit that when I got mine working, I changed the plugs, wires, points, condensor, cap and rotor and the coil.

Re: Ignition Problems...

I bought a MSD streetfire set of universals and cut and crimped to length.

Re: Ignition Problems...

I agree with kirk, look into replacing the coil. I have an accel one on mine for a v8, works goo so far. You might also want to look into changing the plug wires as well, depending on how old they are if you haven't already. Mine are, again, from a universal kit.

Re: Budd wheels

I figured I'd need the radial tubes, I was wondering if the 900x16 ones would be the trick for a 32"-36" tire. I'm pretty smart with most thinks mechanical, but tires, well let's just say I suck at them about as bad or worse than I type, and I'm about the only 25 y/o I know who doesn't kno...

Re: Budd wheels

For those in the know, will the 900x16 radial tubes work in say a 235/85r16 tire? I want to move towards something that will hold up a bit better than NDTs

Re: Transfer case question np200

Are you talking about the things the levers attach to? if so, mine look about an inch or so. I could measure the throw while I degrease the outside.

Re: SM465

So it wasn't broken, nor has it had maintenance done to the tcase before I pulled it. So new gaskets and oil it is and putting it back in.

Re: In need of some parts.

I think I used an MSD streetfire universal plug wire set for my M. I took a while to do the measuring and bending, but it works well. If you have a 24v system though, I don't think that'd work to well.

Re: SM465

I went to ease in and heard loud bangs and clanks and smoke. It also snapped the shackle connecting the rear driveshaft to the t-case.
