Re: Royal Blue M37 in time for the St Paul Winter Carnival

Nice simple job on your M! I live near Stillwater and we did the Winter Carnival about 3 years ago in our M37's. Pretty wild event for sure. DO you have any opinions of the 350 motor? I'm redoing my M this winter and do not want or need to do a complete restoration. Just want a good looking freeway ...

Re: Voltage regulator fried

Thanks Wes, as always you are a wealth of information! The company that fixed my regulator is out in California so I won't be sending the generator out to him due to cost. I've decided to give this one last repair attempt before switching over to a solid state unit from John. Thanks for the jumper i...

Re: Voltage regulator fried

Why not run off the batteries while I wait for the regulator to get fixed? Will I wreck anything???
Thanks

Voltage regulator fried

I have to remove my voltage regulator to get it repaired but would still like to drive my truck. I understand as long as I keep my batteries charged this should work but with the regulator removed I believe I should be able to "jump" a couple of connections to maintain spark at the regulat...

Voltage Regulator rebuilds

I know this topic has been addressed many times but I have found a company in California that specializes in rebuilding the voltage regulators for the M37's. They do AutoLite and Delco and are very reasonable and also just plain good people that will take care of you. They will custom rewind coils i...

Re: Regulator problems

Is my best choice to switch to a solid state unit from John at Midwest Military? I really enjoy the mechanical unit but struggle with the lack of info and/or parts that do not seem to be available. Also, is there a download available for the TM manual?
Thanks

Regulator problems

I have the original 24v regulator in my truck that has not been charging. We have removed the unit and tested the components with an ohme meter to determine continuity and found the diode was fried. I ordered a new one and installed it. Once the truck was started the voltage meter was reading in the...

Fording valve settings

Does anybody have any pics of the correct position of the fording valves on the crankcase and carberator. Mine are neither open or closed and I'm not sure which way is open and I'm having issues with oil continually leaking out of my valve access covers so I'm concerned that there is too much pressu...

Valve adjustment access cover

I have a lot of oil leaking from both my access covers. I have pulled them off, cleaned and replaced the gaskets and they still leak. How tight can I make the "thumb screws"? Can I use a plyers and really crank on them?
