Re: Idle speed too high
I have not noticed a deficiency in engine power using the smaller carb. I pulled the spark plugs not too long ago and the insulator tips have a nice color indicating the fuel mix is about right. The only snag I ran into was adjusting the governor to operate correctly with the higher air flow. DW

Idle speed too high
I recently put a Chrysler 265 in my M37 to replace the old 230. I'm using the original ETW1 carb. The engine seems to run fine, except I can't get the engine to idle under 800 rpm even with the throttle screw backed all of the way out. So I'm trying to figure out what the problem is. I would assume ...

Carb Question
I have a Chrysler 251 in my Dodge M37. I'm using the original ETW1 carburetor. There seems to be a flat spot in carb. I'm trying to figure out if the vacuum power jets are clogged up, or if the carb is too small for the 251. Ideas? Thanks, Dale

Re: Canadian Hood Info
From what I've been able to learn, the hood used on the CDN 37's was manufactured in the U.S. There is a difference in the interior sheet metal support at the front of the hood between the Canadian version the U.S. version. The difference being the clearance required the offset radiator used in the ...

The pictures are great! Thanks for taking time to post. I've got the differences/modifications figured out. I should be good to go. Thanks again.

Canadian Hood Info
I'm in the process of installing a 251 in my M37 with the Canadian radiator. Looking at a few of the posts on the web, it appears that the Canadian M37's had a modified hood to clear the offset radiator. Does anyone have specific information, or pictures of the modification? Thanks.

11" Clutch?
I'm working on putting a 251 in my M37 and am having a devil of a time finding an 11" clutch cover and disc. The Perfection clutch (NAPA) components CA1447 and RCF497 are no longer available. Anyone have a better source? Anyone tried using a 10" clutch (I have one of those)? Thanks, DW

Speedo Gear Help
I replaced the original 5.83:1 gears in my M37 with 4.89:1. I'm looking for a little information on what speedometer drive/driven gears I need to use in the transfer case to get the speedometer to read correctly. Thanks, DW

Re: M37CDN Carb
Thanks for responding. Is your ETW1 stock, or did you have to jet it up for the larger engine?

M37CDN Carb
Was the B&B ETW1 carburetor used on the 251 engines in Canadian M37's? If so, were the same metering jets and rods the same as used on the 231 engines?

If it's the oil pan gasket, Fel-Pro OS 915 C gasket set should work.

Re: 265 L6 in M37B1
Thanks for the response. I did find a clutch kit for a Dodge WM300 Pickup that has the 11" clutch disc with a 1"-10 center hub. So I think I'm good to go.
