I know this is old but.... not sure what the issue is. If it's some wire loom that is discoloring, I'd look for heat shrinkable wire loom as a replacement. TechFlex, Tuff-Wrap, Kwik Wire are some. Plenty of others. Might also be called braided sleeving.

I don't think I've tried Rust Bullet but I do heartily recommend ZeroRust.
I've been very happy with it. I use it by itself as final coat or as a primer. I do remove as much rust as possible before applying.
It will fade in the sun if not top coated.

Very nice. Don't see many in the USAF color.
