Inverters
Has anyone here had a particularly good or bad experience with a brand of 12vdc-120vac inverter? I am looking to install one in another of truck of mine, directly hard wired in. Something in the 3000-5000 watt range should do it. Since it is an old firetruck, there is already a 200 amp alternator in...

Still got it and will consider offers from fellow g741.org board friends before it goes to ebay.

Rebuilt Braden LU-4 and complete winch kit for sale
Up for grabs is an LU-4 Braden Winch, rebuilt by Sid Beck a little over a year ago and never installed. New seals, worm gear, you name it. With it is included a VERY solid early style PTO that is a take-off, a NOS PTO shaft including the u-joints, NOS frame extensions, super nice bumper halves, all ...

Trailer plug adapter help
Has anyone ever tried to make an adapter to run between an M series receptacle and a four flat pin trailer plug? I would like to make a trailer to haul canoes and gear and run it off my truck. The wiring harness for the trailer would be homemade so that is why I am leaning to the four pin plug. Is o...

Charles, It is indeed the vent tube that you described that I tightened. As for the fording valve, it is wired open. The drain plug is out and there is no oil around it or inside where my finger can reach. I can't explain it myself, just that it seemed to work. As for you looking at it, I would be h...

Hard Starting revisited and hopefully fixed
All, You may remember a few weeks ago I was having trouble getting my truck started after sitting for a day or two. I had the idea that it may be a vacuum leak somewhere. Others suggested fuel issues, still some suggested electrical. I took all advice to heart and proceeded to check the fuel lines, ...

Progress report
Wow, where do I start first? Lots of good input here from several angles and it all sounds good. Due to getting home late and other duties, some of the suggestions will have to wait. In the meantime, just for the heck of it, I pumped the fuel pump lever 5 gentle times prior to a cold start this even...

Let me see if I can adress all of this with what everyone has said and what I need to add. As for the rebuild, the engine was rebuilt by Robert Stroud in Kinston, NC and he has rebuilt several for me over the years including a previous 230 for another M37 I used to own. Robert is a darn good builder...

Hard to start, could it be vacuum leak?
I have a fresh rebuild with less than 1500 miles on it. Very good rebuild job including balancing. My batteries spin the heck out of the engine too. After sitting for 24-36 hours or so, the carb seems to lose prime. This all started about the same time a windshield vacuum motor started leaking. I ha...

Need PTO Shaft Help
I have tried with no avail to find a complete universal joint for the connection between the PTO shaft and my winch. Does anybody have one for sale? If not, how about a part number for a modern crossover? I am just about to consider having a drive shaft shop weld something up for me but wanted to go...
