Re: intake manifold for 251 c. i.
My CDN M37 251 engine has the carb mounting surface at the same height as the head/block joint. The carb gasket surface is about 1/8" above the cast intake runner heights. I can send you some pics if you want. This engine is out of the truck and sitting on a stand. Terry...email at t__acheson@s...

Re: NP-200 Idler Pre-Load Spacer
According to my WW2 WC63 manual the Idler gear bearing adjustment spacer part # 41-S-3868-500 is 31/32" thick. The circle od is 2" and the id is 1.375". It had a handle that was 17 " long as well. It's on page 74 of TM 9-1808B. Terry

Re: What's a P30 Engine?
A P30 engine is a 1957 Plymouth 230 engine. It's probably a replacement engine that someone installed into your truck. I doubt it's a Canadian engine as these were always the long block motors ie 251's .

Re: Custom Gears
Please be careful in your thinking that you willingly want to drive the old M on the freeway. These trucks do not like the speed and the steering and brakes if stock are marginally up the their tasks. I would be very uncomfortable driving next to a hundred vehicles at speeds approaching 55 mph. I wo...

Re: Best Tail Lights for M37
I use the similar lights for my WC63 and had them on my M37 as well. In todays rushing crazy driver world I want rear lights that are easily seen by all from behind. The housings look very similar to mine except the ones I got were a composite material and have all the same mounting hardware and wir...

Re: Dual Master Cylinder
The M37 that I had I installed a dual master cylinder. I ran it for a year and found the first pedal application felt a little soft. I installed the 10 psi residual pressure valve for the rear stock drum brakes and a 2 psi residual valve for the front discs. The pedal stayed firm and never felt soft...

Re: MM here are the specs on the pitman arm !
MM : I have used a place called Rareparts.com in California to make me up a custom pitman arm for my M37. The arm is to connect to a chevy saginaw power steering box ( reverse rotation) to the stock steering drag link. The arm has a ball stud that is tightened in to maintain the same ball size as th...

Re: Steering Upgrade?
The standard large chevy power steering box spline has 28 splines and 4 master splines. This is a tapered shaft with the large diameter nearest the box being 1.250". The pitman arms are machine to draw up on this shaft about 1/3-1/2 way with the nut. I just had a custom pitman arm made from a p...

Re: stalling / hesitation issue
Is the brass plug attached to the top of the accelerator plunger smooth in its bore in the top cover?. Is the brass plug really loose or just a slight drag when moved in the bore?. The brass plug should be a slightly snug fit and has the coating worn off of the top covers bore in this area. Maybe th...

Re: stalling / hesitation issue
The last time I rebuilt my carb I had the same problem. It turned out to be the "new" leather fuel cup on the accelerator plunger. I reused the old leather one as well and the problem went away. The new leather cup I turned down to the same diameter of the old original up. The new leather ...

The wiring diagrams for the cargo/command truck and the ambulance have been sent to you. You'll see the 22A and B wires on the different diagrams. Hope this helps you out. Terry

Re: Wiring discrepancy in TM9-8030 page 258
I checked my Canadian Army M37 repair manual and found the wire 22A. It comes from the light switch as marked "22 service stop lamp". Then it connects to the rear chassis harness and becomes wire 22A only for the cargo and command truck versions. The same wire on the ambulance becomes 22B ...
