Re: Piston ring job
Do yourself a favor. Use some Seafoam and see if you can't free up the rings. If the valves were problematic, the rings could be gummed up too. Not to sound bitchy, but if you are asking these questions about rings, you have no business inside the engine. Find someone in your area who knows engines...

Re: cab to frame spacer?
I have used rubber truck bed floor mat and cut to size using tin snips and hole saw for the bolt holes . The rubber material has fiber in it to keep from pushing apart when compressed. Also can be stacked to get the right thickness.when done it looks like it was made for the application and gives be...

Re: Where would you look first (engine "miss" at idle)
The coil still might be an issue, the vent lines are NEEDED to keep the coil from over heating and breaking down. I would suggest putting air pressure through the lines making sure they are clear of any blockage, the fittings at the intake are designed to draw the air flow through the lines. You can...

Re: Flywheel Question
It is a military dodge 230, I my self started slinging wrenches forty years ago and built countless engines.some I balanced most not! Back in the day we never balance engines working in the dealer ships, but now it's a whole different world.the customers expectation has gone way beyond the past and w...

Re: Flywheel Question
I would stick with the stock one. heavier and balanced for that engine. Chrysler engines were balanced really well even back in those days. usually they don't need machining anyway. just take some 60 grit sand paper on a block of wood and go to town. Yes you can go to town that way! Why not be sure...

Re: M37 rim variants?
Those wheels have the correct back spacing so tires will not touch when running as duels like on WC's of WWII, There are photos of the Air Force running duels front and rear on a M37 retrieving the missing B24 Lady Be Good in the North Africa dessert. they also were used on civilian trucks and usual...

Re: did 1954 m37 trucks have the fuel primer on them
If your Engine is in proper tune and the carburetor is adjusted correctly the choke and accelerator pedal is all you should ever need to start in most climates, but In extreme cold a block heater solves that problem.

If you don't do your own soldering I would suggest taking it to a local radiator shop and they can repair no problem!

You should be able to buy them at any truckstop parts store, they are not unique they're very common both the left-hand and right-hand nuts.

DAP This is on you tube if you have not seen it! These were the very first Items sold live on National TV at a Barrett Jackson auction so there was a lot of stress and tension. Marine color guard leads the truck in and if there you could have heard a pin drop through out the whole building( was an e...

Re: what brake fluid to use on m37
My apologies the TMs do not specifically say. Dot 5 or dot 3/4 the TM specifically says nonpetroleum based fluid and is designated as HB (hydraulic brake fluid ) in the TM. Dot 5 was first available in the very early 70s. My personal likes of dot 5 is the fact that silicone-based brake fluid does no...
