Re: Leaf Spring Rebuild
I used International Travelall/Scout and front Jeep CJ7 springs to rebuild and lift my M37. M101 trailer springs are also useful.

Re: Converting M37 to D60 and 14ff axles
Just adding to an old post to share info. GM D60 cut down on both sides to allow 13-13/16" inner axle on pass side and 28-3/8" on dr side to tuck HMMWV wheels on dually hubs inside fenders. Also, GM iron spring plates do weld easily. Use steel and add shock mounts and front crossmember nee...

Anything is possible. I used Jeep CJ7 front springs to re-do my worn original spring packs. Remember to add anti-squeek pads between leafs.

The coolant in oil and low compression on 1 cylinder strongly indicate blown head gasket. He never updated post with answer.

Re: Hardtop, Canvas or Topless?
I had a CCKW top on.my 1st M37. It made the interior more noisy, fit poorly, and I think I had to roll the windows down slightly to open the doors. I have used canvas for last decade and plan to keep using it in summer/parades. I like the look and ease to go topless. However, I picked up an artic to...

Re: Drive train upgrade
Dave at Midnight Engineering in New Castle, DE used to swap M37 bodies on Chevy 1 ton truck frames. He beliived it was easier to swap the M37 body onto a shortened frame b/c everything driveline-wise is pre-engineered by GM. I swapped 1 ton GM narrowed front Dana 60 and 14 bolt pickup width rear int...

Re: Electric 24V wiper and fuel pump upgrade
Buy American Bosch wipers to replace the Trico vacuum wipers. They show up on Ebay regularly. They are often used in marine applications. They had no problem with snow on my trucks.
And yes, that link is to the American Bosch wiper you want.

Re: WTB two 9.00-16 tires
Coleman's Surplus in Millersville has some. My son and I spotted in them weeds walking between M35 and CUCV mantainance truck in October. They are off M101 trailers. Lots of ND tread w/o much weather checking.
