I am at the point of getting the ignition sorted out. Looking at the attached picture of the distributer cover. Where is #1 located? I know the firing order but I have a new set of wires to put on.
Note that this a spare cover. Not the one that is installed.

Re: Spark Plug Thread Size??
I wonder what the larger size was for? I guess maybe a bigger vehicle? Or an earlier vehicle. The thread size reminds me of the plugs that fit my old Farmall tractor. I will be putting these ip for sale on ebay. I have to recoop some of the money to pay for the new ones ($192 plus shipping)!

Spark Plug Thread Size??
Working on getting my ‘62 M37 going, I went to replace the plugs and the ones that the guy gave me when I bought the truck are way too big. What is the correct plug for an M37? These are the waterproof type plugs.

Re: My 1962 Project 😵💫
It is the end of September and the hurricane season is in full swing. Rains every day. Brakes are finished. Engine and valves are free. I am almost ready to put the head back on. I put two new batteries in and was checking out the lights. Headlights work. Parking (?) lights work. I am not real sure ...

Re: Wheel cylinder direction
I believe I got it right using the feeler gauge method and adjusting both the upper and lower adjustments. If it’s not perfect, it is darn close.

Re: My 1962 Project 😵💫
I learned something this week. #1 Use the manuals! #2 Don’t take for granted that the previous owner did things correctly. I replaced the front wheel cylinders the same way they came off. They are backwards, so now I have some rework to do. I found this out when I removed the rear wheel cylinders an...

Wheel cylinder direction
I have been working on the brakes of my M37 and I believe the previous owner didn’t pay attention or know that wheel cylinders are left and right. I replaced them as I found them and now I may have them on backwards. Large cylinder facing forward (front shoe) or towards rear shoe? Back to the drawin...

Re: My 1962 Project 😵💫
Well, I guess i didn’t explain what I wanted to do. The air pressure isn’t for actually breaking it free. it was to help the JB Blaster help penetrate the rings. Unfortunately it has been holding pressure for a week now. You would have thought it would have leaked down by now. Since it has been hot ...

Re: My 1962 Project 😵💫
The engine hade a compete overall about 10 years ago. Was a daily driver supposedly. Then water got in from an open spark plug hole. I am just wanting to get it running.
