Re: Power steering kit

Just in case anyone is interested I bought a p.s. kit from ezsteer on ebay. Made him an offer and he accepted. I'm happy with the kit although some minor mods were necessary. The hardest part was aligning the pump. I shortened the column about 2" to get more belly room too!

Re: Power steering kit

I did see a guy on youtube who installed electric power steering on a humvee. It looked similar to the prius electric power steering unit that a lot of hot rodders and classic car guys use. It turned the wheels just fine.

Power steering kit

I've decided to install power steering on my 1953 M37. The truck has the 230 c.i. engine and 24 volt electrics. I've looked at M-series, VPW, and Ezsteer kits on line and would like to know any opinions good or bad that you guys have. The the easier the install the better. Thanks in advance.

Re: PTO removal

I got the pto apart and the only thing I found was the 2 identical tapered roller bearings and races were bad. Anybody have a current bearing part number for these?

Re: PTO removal

Thanks for the reply. I removed the end plate where the lever attaches and it dropped out smashing my plastic oil pan. Didn't get me though! Looks like it had some water in it so I'll need a rebuild kit. Gears look ok. Any suggestions for a bearing, seal and gasket kit?

PTO removal

Hello all, I had a weird sound when I engaged the clutch on my 1953 M37. Sounded like a flap flap sound that went away with the clutch disengaged. I removed the cover and found nothing wrong. Turned out the noise is in the pto. I loosened it from the trans and the noise is gone. My question is can t...
