Re: Save the MVPA!
Your position is understandable and shared by many. The MVPA is a story of mismanagement and missed opportunities. Under the current board, it's also a sordid example of autocracy, ignorant attitudes of top-down authoritarianism, and general detachment from the needs of the hobby and the membership....

Re: ETW1 CARB REBUILD QUESTIONS
Hello and welcome, I recently rebuilt my carburetor, and the spring that you identified was also missing. Midwest Military graciously sent a another replacement kit, but the spring was missing from that one also. It seems that John Bizal's supplier overlooked the spring in the carburetor parts inven...

Re: Save the MVPA!
Mike, In case you missed it, I've taken the liberty of posting John Schroeder's thoughtful response from a different forum: "The answer as to why we cannot wait for the legacy nomination process is that the MVPA doesn’t have a year or two years for real, meaningful action to take place. Based o...

Re: Save the MVPA!
The idea that we should wait for regular elections to Save the MVPA is misleading. The MVPA does not have that kind of time. It has become clear that a new Board taking office in a year from now will inherit an association that is out of money and out of ideas. Simply put, it will be too late. It is...

Save the MVPA!
Fellow MV owners, operators and other interested folks, I am part of a group of active MVPA members who believe that the MVPA will soon fail. Declining membership, a weak financial position, and poor decisions by the Board of Directors have placed the MVPA at an existential crossroad. Because the Bo...

Re: Budd Wheels Newbie Questions
FWIW, I get a little hinky about "McGivering" solutions that intrude on well-established and safe processes. It's best to find a tire shop with the right equipment to handle the tires safely. A transport chain, overkill or not, (or any other alternative) is not designed to be a tire cage. ...

Re: Forgotten Waypoints 1952 M37 Build Thread
One may have thought that I'd figured this out before, but recently I've started using this technique for removing seized fasteners: After liberal use of penetrating oil, use your wrench (or vise grip or nut extractor, if the fastener is rounded; hammer on the nut extractor, if necessary). Gently mo...

I've heard that KY Jelly or a similar water-based lubricant works well.

Re: Forgotten Waypoints 1952 M37 Build Thread
Nice video. Thanks for the link. If this truck were mine (yeah, I too have a similar new project in the works), I would inventory the modifications and missing or damaged items. Then I'd step back and evaluate my goal with the truck. You'll have to decide whether to retain the mods and/or to replace...

Re: Forgotten Waypoints 1952 M37 Build Thread
Welcome to the hobby...(almost typed "Welcome to the sport!)" It's a lot of fun and will be rewarding, if at times a little frustrating. Fortunately, parts and information are readily available. I'm finishing a frame off restoration, and many, if not most, of the participants on this forum...

There is an MWO available for the 100 amp conversion. I got a copy from Portrayal Press.
