Vacuum tubing behind dash

I've been through the manuals, but I can't find any information about how the vacuum tubing is routed behind the dash? Is it a rubber hose or steel line from where it comes through the firewall over to the windshield hollow bolt?

Thanks

Behind dash harness routing

Does anyone have a photo of the firewall behind the dash. I'm looking to see how the wiring harness is routed and position of clamps. I failed to take a photo of mine when I took it apart. I've been through the manuals and can only find a reference about the harness being secured in three locations ...

Piston Rings

I just got some NOS piston rings. The top two rings are identical. The top two rings have a beveled edge on the inside of the ring. There are no marks to indicate correct placement and the instructions don't cover it. My question is, if the top two rings are identical, which way does the inside beve...

Re: Battery Box setup

Thanks for the pic. I'm missing the tray and couldn't find a picture of it. This answers my question of the holes and what they're for.

Battery Box setup

I can't find any pics or diagrams of the battery box and what's in there (besides the batteries). I see all the holes but I'm trying to figure out their function. Does anybody have any pics of what's the setup looks like without the batteries installed. Mine had particle board in the bottom, you can...

Re: Piston Wrist pins. How tight should it be?

I cleaned them up with a green pad and tapped them in with a rubber hammer. They were originally packed in cosmoline. I had to soak them for a day in gasoline to unravel all the packing. I still had to press them out of the piston with a press. Must have been some cosmoline around the pin. I think t...

Piston Wrist pins. How tight should it be?

I'm rebuilding the 6-cylinder flathead out of my 1953 M37. I have a question about the piston pins. The rod ends bushings were burnished to fit the pin and they are a good fit. I'm having to use a hydraulic press to push the pins into the pistons. I've never had piston pins that are this tight befor...
