Re: What is this Test Kit actually for ???
They are used to do electrical tests on all of the electrical equipment under the hood. The adapters help you access the waterproof connectors and distributor. Only one I've ever used is the timing adapter. I bought mine maybe 10 years ago from a dealer for 35 bucks. Prices sure have climbed. Rick

Re: Check it out....M56 R2 Crash Truck (M37)
M56 was the designation for the cab/chassis supplied by Dodge. They were sent to private companies to have the crash/fire bodies added. This was from the M37 production Book that was published a while back.

Re: How to Rejuvinate Canvas Straps, etc ??
I used the cold water/soap method on the rear straps from my M43. They were grimy and stiff also. They came out pretty good....a lot cleaner and softer than they were.. I hung mine from the floor joists near my furnace fora few day to dry them out slowly to avoid shrinkage

Re: Canvas top strap routing
You are explaining fine, I think everyone is assuming you are talking about the strap going thru the loops on opposite ends. Strap should go from windshield...over top of rear bow then thru the footman loop thats welded to the bow. Rick I can send you a pic if u send me your email. File too large to...

They look like the clips on my M38 that secure the fuel/brake lines to the frame and the wire harness to the rear frame.......

Re: EAST COAST--BE CAREFUL!!
Rhode Island is a mixed bag.... Inland not too bad, about the same as a good old Nor Easter but RIs coastline got hammered pretty good. 4-5 feet or sand on the roads and houses and businesses destroyed....

Re: Freeze plugs
I didn't make the repair... I just pulled the engine for him. I've put freeze plugs in before and never had an issue. He had one come out when he ran it after rebuild then another a couple minuts into a test ride. No idea how they were installed or if they used the permatex. Will take a look when i ...

It got me started on my M37 and was a place where no question was too stupid. Nice to see that it's evolved into this great site and great grou...

Believe they are called Step bolts or elevator bolts. I believe MWM had some. I "might" have some used ones kicking around here somewhere.

Re: Unpainted Bolts when Restoring?
The pics of the Air Force truck are nice but I would use them to decide what color was or wasn't original. I took apart an Air Force M43 and everything inside was blue... there was nothing black in the cab except the rubber weather stripping. Both seats were green vinyl and the seats in teh rear com...

Re: New member hello and some questions!
The item on your firewall is the very early ignition filter. Later units had them built into the distributor. I had a manual around here somewhere thats dated 1951 and thats in it. The 1951 models had all kinds of bells and whistles such as an access hole under the passenger seat to adjust the parki...
