Re: Engine swap

Keep the comments coming, I'm picking up a lot of ideas on issues to look for. This is what the PW guys had to say in regards to the flywheel, "its a bolt in except the flywheel on the 230 has 8 studs and the crank in the 218 probably only has 4, I think. but the 8 bolt flywheel should bolt to ...

Re: Engine swap

I intend to drive the truck around town, to parades, and some highway driving, maybe a little offroading. Will the flywheel have to be replaced?

Re: Broke engine

I have never taken an engine apart before, I have replaced the clutch on the M-37 though, so I'm not afarid of getting my hands dirty. I live in southern Cali, so I figure if I screw it up more, I can take it to a shop. As for as tools, I have access to pretty much anything I need (I gots friends).....

Clutch

What parts would you recommend to change when the clutch goes bad? Can these parts be bought locally?

I constantly drive my M-37 everywhere, when I was stationed in San Diego I used to make that run from L.A. at 55 mph, I did this for 2 1/2 years. Recently I took a trip to 29 Palms from L.A. at 55 or better. Every where I go I run 55 +, the old girl is still running strong. http://www.fototime.com/9...

I recently tried installing a fuel pump I purchased rebuilt but it seems the the arm that goes inside the engine is too long, am I doing something wrong?
