Re: Graveyard in the Gallery
tumblr_oza890dQsu1r0j27bo1_540.jpg I'm pretty sure we've all run across M37s that we KNOW are never going to be rescued and who's only fate is scrap http://inlinethumb47.webshots.com/50606/2941894040107475698S600x600Q85.jpg Yeah I know where a Canadian and US M37 sit and I seriously doubt they will...

Re: 1952 project coming along
Somehow I missed this post Morgan-great picture! Gary Yeah it looks great, I have been working for a month straight so we need to find some time. They are going to test fit it soon I think and then the machinist next door can modify the mounts. You can have money or time, not both. I don't want it ...

Re: 1952 project coming along
I have already given Andy some parts and once we remove the whole drivetrain I will give him all that stuff if he wants. We just figured out a few things, I bought a new 6 speed Chevy tranny a couple days ago, we have had the 4BT Cummins for a little while already. We still need a transfer case and ...

Re: M42 Kit info
I have a 1952 M42, my data plate was in the glovebox. It has more holes for cables and radio mounts for sure. There is also a plug with a cap I noticed outside by the wheel arch. I don't have any of the original bits like the table and smaller seat in back.

Re: 1952 project coming along
Hi Morgan, Some of the vendors might have a use for your old drivetrain; PM sent regarding your 230. Thanks, Gary I know he starts it up and warms it up every couple weeks or so, it hasn't driven anywhere in a while but it starts and runs fine. I can look for the receipt, I know I had it in the inf...

Re: 1952 project coming along
Those tires look great on the combat rims! Gary Yeah thanks, I saw a few trucks with the combination and I knew I had to do it, I found some XZL tires at a shop on ebay in Norfolk, VA. I believe they still have some if anyone is interested. I think they must be the best tires available for this whe...

Re: 1952 project coming along
That hard top saw good times, are you keeping it? Yeah I'll put it in storage, it's an early one. But I'm going to use the soft top at first, I'm going to have the guys fix up the hard top someday, fat mat it and put a nice liner in it etc.. I like that the top comes off these trucks so I may not e...

Re: 1952 project coming along
Looking good! Those are some big tires. Take some pictures when you have it out! Yeah they are about 39", Michelin XZLs. I found some new ones and couldn't pass them up, you usually only find them used with 70-80% tread. I've seen a few M37s with combat wheel and XZLs. We just ordered the driv...

Re: 1952 project coming along
Well we are ordering parts now, we should be driving it in time for some warmer weather. The wheels are almost done, three need paint and the other has a stuck ring but the machine shop is going to have a crack at it. We are getting a 4BT Cummins, not crazy HP, 140hp or so. I have 4.89 gears in alre...

Re: How about a picture of YOUR M37 OR M43!!
Sure would be nice if the mod could increase the size limit on images. So many details are lost. PoW This whole site needs to be relocated, it's totally out of date. It should be at squarespace or something. We should get together and see if we can have a membership or something, I would post a lot...

Re: My wheels are almost done
Keep it up, mate. Even doing upgrades sometimes can be harder than looking for the old stuff that is no longer produced. Part of the game. Yeah thanks, Andy might have found one through a friend so we'll check it out. I have the other wheels so it doesn't stop the project from moving forward. It wi...

My wheels are almost done
We had to get the wheels done before we started the major stuff (4BT etc..), now we can roll it around better. Brakes are done, I got disks up front from Charles and I already had a power steering kit. Rear drums are rebuilt now too. We got some new bead lock ring studs and nuts from midwest, change...

Re: 11.00r16 tubes???
We might try one of the older tubes as a test. I was thinking about getting the 1100 tractor tubes and adding valve stem extensions to them. We are going to blast the combat rims and see about replacing the nuts etc.. We will see what looks good I guess. Thanks.

Re: 11.00r16 tubes???
Well this is not going well, I may be in trouble. I have some very expensive tires here and nobody is replying to me with good news. One shop said just use the 900R16 tubes and another says that sounds dangerous. They do make the size for tractors but the stems are tiny and I doubt they would work.
