The M43 I drove for years had rh patient heater and the front compartment gas fired heater, NEVER an issue with either of them.
You have heat in about 1 minute. And so nice and toasty.

Re: Anyone Upgrade to LED Headlights?
I did my M37. BEWARE! It took me six headlight assemblies to get two that matched color wise. They range from almost green to white to ghastly yellow/green. They are also notorious for developing flicker. If you use real Military versions all you need are three Packard to Douglass adaptors per light...

Re: Oversize spare tire on driver door swing mount
If you go this route be sure you get the re-enforcement that welds to the inside of the door opening to support the weight of the wheel and tire.

M37s came with hardened valve seats. They were designed to run on fuel way worse than E85...

Yeah hard to gauge but there is rust in there. Equally important is if the retainer screws and screw holes are serviceable.

Re: Humvee wheels?
Been buying 24 bolt, both even and paired spacing, never pay more than 50/rim. These coming from the big online auction site. The D rated rim is great but the look of the paired 24 is awesome (to me)

Re: Humvee wheels?
The offset of HMMWV wheels doesn't play well with conventional axles. They have an offset a lot closer to a front wheel drive application. I used to fool with CUCVs and figured the cheapest way to get more road speep would be to put HMMWV wheels and tires on them. Doesn't work. Ended up using the HM...

Re: Timing pointer on 230 flat head six engine missing
In the tune up adaptor kit is the tool that goes into the inspection plug on number 6. It is there for a reason.
Mine is missing the pointer too, but never used it anyway. I set my timing with a vacuum gauge. Adjust idle timing for highest vacuum. Worked for me for years.

Re: ROLL CALL-WHERE IS EVERYONE?
Still around. TOO MANY DARNED projects. In the last six months I've added 2 Jeeps, Two and a half anti-aircraft search lights, a HMMWV, three M-gators and just now a 5 ton tractor. But I found some goodies for the M37 at the Socal meet last weekend, and that has sparked me to work on her some more, ...

Re: Master cylinder squirts fluid from top
Those fillers with vent holes need to go away. Get the right top with a connection for the factory vent line. Unfortunately the fill port is directly above the hole that connects the reservoir to the bore in the master cylinder. It is normal for some fluid to well up in the reservoir when you releas...

Re: M37 brake lines
No experience here. But. I thought just maybe I would escape the brake line debacle getting my 37 back to usable condition. Ive done plenty to it. While I had the brakes apart for replace/rebuild, I added solvent to the open brake lines and blew them out. I had baggies over every open end so I could...
