Re: Anyone making new rear axle shafts now?

Has anyone ever contacted Moser or Strange about new shafts? A few of the places I have dealt with over the years. There are many new ones out there now but I know these places have been around since I had my shop in the 80's. https://www.moserengineering.com/ https://www.strangeengineering.net/ htt...

P/N or description? I go in there and tell them I need the nut for a brake hose on a 53 M37 and all you will hear is crickets. Or they will send me to the Help rack. They ALWAYS sent you to the Help rack when they are lost.

Re: question wiring new temp gage

The ribbed connector is usually the positive side, Which on a sending unit gauge would be the hot wire coming in and the smooth connector would be the wire going out to the sending unit. I would wait till you get another answer or two since this is an older vehicle than I am used to working on and t...

Re: Nut on brake hose where it meets frame

Ben, no, nothing combined. They act like they don'y really know if that is the right nut or not when in fact I am sure they know it. They probably get the same call after every brake line order. Cal, you are right there. I am having them send it to me by USPS because it is the cheapest possible rout...

Re: Letter code, and how to remove oil pressure relief valve

I only see two A's. Spray some carb cleaner in the bore on the relief valve, preferably so that it is soaking in it and after a while tap it down just a hair to try to break it loose then try the magnet and hopefully you can start to work it back and forth. Probably frozen in with carbon and old bak...

Re: Nut on brake hose where it meets frame

Found my answer in the SNLG-502. Stock Number G121-0314548, Nut, Brake Hose (Hex., S., 5/8-18).

VPW could definitely have labeled it better but I think for a buck and a half just add it to the damn order! You KNOW it will be needed!!

Nut on brake hose where it meets frame

I bought new brake hoses from the differentials to the frame but they came without the nuts to attach them to the frame brackets. I called VPW and all they can come up with is a "Brake hose union nut to tube connection" P/N CC600970, ORD# 7351300. I am trying to find out if these are the r...

Re: What did you do with your truck this weekend?

Mine is sitting in the back yard. Sudden health issue has me where I am no longer strong enough to drive it or work on it. Hell, I can hardly dress myself right now. Jeep restoration is stalled too. Can't muster the strength to finish the steering. Let alone start remounting the tub. I know well ab...

Re: What did you do with your truck this weekend?

I moved mine out of the garage...................................... Then I moved it back in. Sad, but at least it did it under it's own power. No brakes but it moves. As I get my strength and facilities back I will get back on it.

Good luck with the install. Looking at the manual starting dog on the front pulley I have to ask, Has anybody EVER started their M37 with the hand crank?

Re: uneven cylinder head temp

The gauge on the dash is just an indicator, and if it is the original military one it is a pretty inaccurate indicator at that. You may have a gauge that is out of range, a sender that is out of range or something as simple as a bad connection that has just the tiniest bit of resistance and that wil...
