Re: New member, soon-to-be-owner...
Thanks Bruce! I've found on these old jeeps that maintenance is the key. The 9 inch drums on these aren't self adjusting, so you have to stay on top of the adjustments. With good drums, pads, and hardware I can lock the brakes if I need to. That said, I always drive it like I'm towing a trailer and ...

Re: New Owner and I Already Broke It!
I'd install a pressure gauge an check that the fuel pressure is correct. if it isn't, I'd be looking at the fuel pump first. If if fuel pressure is good, and it's trying to die when you tip into the pedal, I'd suspect the accelerator pump in the carb. It's not uncommon for the seal on it to dry out ...

Re: Sound dampening materials
I ranted in another thread about the evils of bedliner. Just beware that any panel repairs where the bedliner is will be difficult beyond belief. Dynamat or simlilar materials will deaden the sound better and will make repairs far easier.

Re: blower for flat head
I'm totally new to the M37 & variants, so I pose a question: Does this motor have a civilian equivalent, and did that motor have forced induction parts available 'back in the day'? I'm asking because I have a '48 Willys CJ2A that came with an original-style L134 Willys Go-Devil 4 cyl flathead. B...

Re: Most Practical Modification Thread
I don't know if this belongs here, but someone mentioned it and I have to chime in with a "Please for the love of everything HMV" never, never, ever, ever, coat your truck in bedliner. Ever. To be clear, I'm referring to the people who coat entire trucks/jeeps/whatever with bedliner thinki...

Re: Graveyard in the Gallery
I'm just staring at these and drooling, wishing some were in the Pacific Northwest... :( I know of a guy south of Tacoma with a scrapyard full of this stuff, but he wants $150 each for split rims, and $250 for combat rims, and $2000 for an M37 with a full set of rims and a good drive train, but the ...

Nice! My father in law lived in Sedro before he passed a few years back. We spend the summer out there his final year. There's a great Thai place on Metcalf St, or there was a few years back. I'm out in north Idaho, about halfway between Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint. I'd love to get Ironsides out tha...

Just a heads up on Omix Ada parts. If you can find the part from a different manufacturer, like Crown, avoid the Omix part. I'm a member over on theCJ2Apage.com forums, and we've had issues with quality and fit with Omix parts. In the last few months two of our members have had Omix-made steering se...

Re: Leaking Oil Pan Gasket Replaced.
I'm pretty sure I'm not old enough to be 'old-fashioned', but I've been using gasket shellac on the flat-four in my Willys to very good effect. I'd love to say it held up for years, but about three months after I 'discovered' it, I blew the rings on the #4 piston playing with a turbo  So now t...

Re: New member, soon-to-be-owner...
well, I suspect the bumper numbers are bogus at this point. I'm not finding anything to corroborate either 121C-R or 75 M. If the parts interchange for the bumperettes is small enough, for example, if they only interchange with the WC-54 and not two dozen other trucks, then it may be fruitful to pee...

thanks guys, I appreciate it. I suspect Rich is going to try to angle for both the Dart and the Fairlane in trade. If he does, I'll shoot for getting something I can trade off or put to work.

Here's the rundown. What would you value an M43 under the following conditions: -Engine, trans, and all underhood stuff in missing. -No rims/tires -Instrument cluster is missing -most switches & other dash components are missing -Wiring is hacked to 12v, most of the original wiring is missing, t...

Thanks! I knew about the ACR acronym, so the Cavalry was throwing me off.
Would it be out of line to post some detailed info about this rig and ask what a fair price would be?
