Ballast resistor
Well now being poor folk, I rewired the ol' MayWalk by making my own harnesses, using fuses instead of the original breakers (Yea I know...sacrilege, but I have done a bunch, and it was way cheaper). After a little head scratching, I realized that I did not see a ballast resistor in the old and much...

Charles, not in the least bit offended, exchange of information is what it is all about. I just wanted to pick your brain. As I said the only motor I have rebuilt that went south on me was the 198. When it blew I was new to synthetic oils, and I wanted to see what the results were. Believe me I did ...

OK GUY'S, IT'S BRAKE JOB TIME!
What I would like to know is where do I get the best bang for my bucks. I have looked at a few parts places, but I would like your opinions about who to do business with, especially if I can "keep it in the Family" so to speak...Thanks...John

Teflon Blues
Mr Rebuild, information please. I have used slick 50 and synthetic oil for years. I had an old 198 Buick v6 that I had to recycle some used pistons in order to put it together after I had done all the machine work, as that was the one part "no longer available". After 10 years of hard abus...

Mystery Oil
What do you guys recommend in the way of additives for the "M's" engine. I have been using Marvel Mystery Oil in gas, 10W-30 synthetic, and SLICK 50.
I run this in all my rigs...John

I scrounged a "pancake" stile rear heater out of a Toyota land cruiser. Easy fit. produces just enough heat to get by at 17 degrees. Since I have a 12/24 center tapped battery system wiring it to the 12V side was a breeze. Yea I know I am dammed but I am warm.

Silicone rules
Rule 1 never mix. There that's it. I have used it forever. Only had one problem. My son decided to top off my clutch master cyl. He used some dot 3 he had. I noticed my clutch didn't feel right. Opened the master cyl and behold JELLO. Mixing the two defiantly will produce the dreaded GOO. In lieu of...

Just a quick note: My hood prop rod ends (rubber) were shot. A minor but irritating condition. I was moving my bow and arrows, when I noticed the rubber tipped practice arrow tips looked like a perfect fit. They in fact were. So for about a buck and a half at the local bow shop, my "M" now...

Diverter positioning
Is the heat diverter manually adjusted or is there a bi-metallic spring internally. Mine is stuck in the same position shown in Monkey's picture. So far no manifold damage...John

POWER TAKEOFF
I was cruising the local junkyard yesterday and found an old dodge dump bed truck. It has a spitfire engine and a NP tranny. Here is the question... Will the power takeoff on the NP tranny fit the old style 52 vintage tranny??? My transmission is in good shape and the condition of the NP is dubious....

AMSOIL
I have used AMSOILl 85-90 in my M38. It works great. Easier shifting, less noise, smother shifting etc. I topped of all the lubes in my new so to speak M37 with std 90wt and plan on switching to AMSOIL when I put her on the road. It has been my experience that it is good stuff. After reading the pos...
