Re: M43 Ambulance Part Out Orem, Utah
Do you have an accelerator pedal assembly complete with the hinge that bolt to the floor pan?
Thanks,
John

Re: Brake line flare
Thanks for all the replies, especially hwo1990. I'll order a flaring tool today and buy the tubing and flare nuts locally.

Brake line flare
I installed a new master cylinder and the first time I pressed the brake pedal I felt something give. I crawled under the truck and found a nice hole in one of the brake lines where it had rusted through. The whole system is so rusty I'll probably need to cut it out with bolt cutters. None of the fi...

Re: Master Cylinder Vent Valve and Elbow
Thanks for the information. MSC is now up to $14.95 and NAPA is $29.95. MSC wants $12 for shipping, so I think I'll buy locally at NAPA. I was happy to find your post because I've already spent a couple of hours searching for this. I shoud have come to the forum first.

Thanks 'Just Me'. I just ordered the part. Even if it isn't an exact fit, I can probably make it work.

Re: Accelerator Pedal Assy.
Thanks to all who responded. I'll ask VPW when I call in my next order. They have the pedal in their catalog, but not the hinge. Hopefully they can pull one off a donor vehicle.

Re: Accelerator Pedal Assy.
I'm a rookie in M37 restoration, so I don't have any contacts in the community other than this board. I think there is a military vehicle club in northern Alabama. I'm still learning the ropes.

Re: Accelerator Pedal Assy.
Thanks 'Just Me', but that's just the pedal. I need the piece that mounts to the floor (hinge) or better yet the whole pedal assembly with the hinge, pin, and pedal.

Accelerator Pedal Assy.
The floor of my M37 is rusted out and I'm in the process of repairing it. Unfortunately the piece that holds the bottom of the gas pedal is gone. I looked in the parts book and it looks like its nomenclature is: Hinge, FSN G741-7351348, MFG No. CC-1279563, Ord No. 7351348. I looked on line and can f...

Re: Question regarding what lube for transmission?.....
Thank you all for your advice. There is great diversity of opinion regarding oil choice. I just put Rotella straight 30 weight oil in the engine along with a Napa 1100 oil filter yesterday. I'm going to change it again in a couple of weeks to get rid of any left over gunk.

Re: Question regarding what lube for transmission?.....
Wow, I just read this entire thread and am now totally confused. If my M37 ever hits the road it will just be driven locally. Is there a decent transmission oil I can get at AutoZone that will work well? I'm sure anything will be better than the 20-year old stuff that's in there now. Thanks, John, G...

It runs
The first attempt at starting my 1953 M37 Canadian model, that has been sitting for several years, failed because of no spark. After several days of consternation I finally worked up the nerve to pull the distributor. Much to my relief it looked like a normal distributor inside. I replaced the point...

Re: Timing Marks on 251
Thanks for the reply Jess. I'll have to look for that manual. I have the tech manual for the U.S. Model, but it doesn't cover multiple timing marks.

Timing Marks on 251
I'm an (old) rookie that's adopted a 1953 Canadian M37. Since it has no spark I'm getting ready to remove the distributor to check things out. The manual says to put the no. 1 to the TDC position on the compression stroke. The crank pulley has 3 marks about 10 degrees apart. Can i assume the center ...
