Re: Different kind of spark plug wire question

So to follow up. I did tear down the engine. It was stuck pretty good. Put it back together with some spare parts I had on the shelf. Working on getting it running now. Got the compressor freed up. Wasn't stuck hard. Hopefully it will work. Couldn't find a head gasket for it so I made one. Crossing ...

Re: Different kind of spark plug wire question

Thanks! It's been soaking in 50/50 acetone/ATF since March. Tried a couple times to free it but I think it's going to require tearing down and possibly pressing the pistons out. Tried to stick a scope down in through the spark plug but couldn't get a good picture of the inside. Should have done that...

Re: Different kind of spark plug wire question

Fitting for Halloween, I was building my Ghost Fleet! I blasted and primed 3 tractors this round. I preferred gray primer, but all they had was white. It worked well. I painted one of them in color so far, Minneapolis Moline Prairie Gold, Yellow slightly orange. The white primer what nice to paint t...

Re: Different kind of spark plug wire question

Fenders. Unfortunately someone had stripped and repainted the hood at some point. So all evidence of old lettering was gone.

Re: Different kind of spark plug wire question

Restoration In progress! Kind of doing it a bit backwards. It's currently locked up but I went ahead and did as much prep work for paint as I could before the weather got bad. Nice to paint outside if I can. Sandblasted and Primed couple weeks ago. The engine is stuck but I have all good blocks, pis...

Re: Different kind of spark plug wire question

Thanks!

It's an interesting piece. Has a full aux compressed air system and air brake controls, tank, compressor, service and emergency air lines. All Bendix-Westinghouse components. Runs off the fan belt. The dual wheels are factory. Has a pintle hitch.

Different kind of spark plug wire question

So I'm restoring a 1953 military tractor (used like a tug for air force), Minneapolis Moline UTIL-M, and it has a shielded ignition system. I looked at my 53 M-37 and there are a lot of similarities! Big difference is the tractor has a magneto, American-Bosch. It's a 4 cylinder. The plug wires that ...

Re: M37 Carb

Mine filled the air cleaner elbow just like mentioned above when the fuel PSI was too high. Was about 4 1/2 psi. Dialed it back to about 3 and seems good now. I adjusted it with the top off the carb. Needle valve was leaking by and stopped with the lower pressure. It was kind of like that spring on ...

Re: M37 Carb

Electric fuel pump?

I put on an electric pump and it was too much pressure and over took the float needle valve. Put a regulator in the line, dialed it back to about 3psi and all is good now.

Re: Transfer case shifter rail and set screw

I just used Loctite. Don't know if I will regret that, but the only screw I could find was an Allen head. And didn't have a hole drilled for wire, and I didn't attempt to drill one as it was a pretty hard metal. I did toss the set screw on my lathe and turned the tapered end so it fit nice. I'm bank...
