Re: 383 Mopar powered M37
Here is a better look at the bracket, it doesn't have the core support mount in place in the pic, but you can see how it goes. Got the parts finally in for keeps, mock up stage is pretty much over other then the steering column and shifter. http://57hemicuda.smugmug.com/Cars/PW/i-KR5qRDm/0/L/2015062...

Re: 383 Mopar powered M37
I will being using aftermarket shocks, the originals are worn pretty bad. The steering box worried me abit, so the back side of the mount on the inside of the frame rail I incorporated a 3/8" backing plate which is also the core support and snow plow mounts. The 3/8" plate has a large diag...

Re: 383 Mopar powered M37
Got the radiator shroud built, think I'm going to put a shorter spacer on the fan, but I'm pretty happy with it.

Re: Need a Differential in or near Md or Pa.
I am finishing up a V8 swap which I changed to Dana 60's. Have both diffs which worked well, and I'm in Northern Md. right at the PA. line.

Re: 383 Mopar powered M37
Was sooo hoping that I could use the radiator I got with the truck, looks like brand new. Of course that is not how it worked out, I ended up having to fabricate a new core support to house the 3 core aluminum radiator. I'll fab up a fan shroud tomorrow, and get all the parts painted and bolted down...

Re: 383 Mopar powered M37
Certainly not my first rodeo, but this is my first M37. This is a case of standing on the shoulders of those that came before me. I looked a lot at all the conversions I have seen, and made my pro's and con's list long before I even bought the truck. Usually build road race Muscle cars, this has bee...

Re: 383 Mopar powered M37
Damn Jim, you had me looking over my shoulder until I saw the phone number on the truck in the one pic. LOL Did get the power steering just about figured out, the steering arm will have to be changed, but shouldn't be long before she fires up. http://57hemicuda.smugmug.com/Cars/PW/i-4QWpswJ/0/L/2015...

Re: 383 Mopar powered M37
The air cleaner is from Mopar performance. Got the engine pulled back out the firewall painted, motor mounts, and backer plates sandblasted and powder coated, and then reassemble this weekend. http://57hemicuda.smugmug.com/Cars/PW/i-3nXGFNx/0/L/20150607_094058-L.jpg http://57hemicuda.smugmug.com/Car...

Re: 383 Mopar powered M37
The front differential I narrowed to get the spring perches to line up. Used a dually front to allow me to run HumVee beadlock wheels. Needed to cut 3.5 inches off of the long tube to achieve the proper alignment. http://57hemicuda.smugmug.com/Cars/PW/i-h59k3Lq/0/L/20150213_153730-L.jpg http://57hem...

In the transmission I found a little more carnage then I was expecting. I scrounged some parts and got it together with Redline clutches and bands. http://57hemicuda.smugmug.com/Cars/PW/i-j8cLw8s/0/XL/IMG_20150412_094337-XL.jpg http://57hemicuda.smugmug.com/Cars/PW/i-LQrFjv8/0/L/IMG_20150412_095512-...

Re: 383 Mopar powered M37
Starting with the engine, used a factory Chrysler truck oil pan which I really didn't care for, pan had no baffling at all. As a hobby I do some roadracing, the one thing that has taught me is that oil pan baffling is very important. I desided to fabricate some baffles and welded them into the pan t...

383 Mopar powered M37
Bought a 54 a couple months ago with the intentions of installing a V8. Drove the truck for a while with the flat head and now the conversion begins. Sold the engine to someone on the board here. Conversion will consist of 383 Roadrunner engine, 727 transmission, with attached 205 transfer case, nar...
