That block number is different than the usual T245 engine. Does it have the waterproof oil filler and dipstick? Those were unique features of the G741 series engines.

Re: Directional Help?
If you disassemble it after failure, you'll find the chinchyest contacts and bronze spring arrangement. And most of those handles are knock-offs from China, they even copy the data plate pretty good.

The only reliable mil-spec switch handle is made by Nartron.

Re: Master cylinder recommendations
In over a half-century of driving M37's, I've never had a MC fail, just get a bit mushy.
However, I have had the metal ends of NOS brake hoses blow off for a real pucker-factor experience.

Re: PTO removal
The MOST important thing with the PTO/trans interface is the insertion depth or 'backlash'.
This is accomplished with a gasket stack, otherwise it will bind up if too close and drag the countershaft and/or make noises.

Re: Spare mounting plate vs. channel ?
The round plate was a holdover from the WW2 WC's. When stock was depleted, Chrysler went to the channel.

It goes to the feed terminal on the starter, along with the cable to the battery.

Re: Steering Knuckle Bearings
Stick with the cones. Dodge engineers used them for a reason.
Follow the TM in setting preload on the knuckle bearings. Parts are available if needed.

Re: My 1952 Dodge M37 re-building process
Keep in mind your windshield frames are the same as what is on the M35 2.5 ton, M54 5-ton, and 800-series 5-ton.
Might be easier to find over there.
Just not the 900 series 5-ton.

Re: Stiff Steering
In a word, no.
Park it and have someone rotate the wheel whilst you look for 'slop' in any linkage or tie rod end.
Something is either looking for lube or replacement.
The M37 in stock form is easy enuf to steer.

That is a pinion seal for the M37, not the bearing set.
