Re: Loud wine/humm. Gear noise?
Any suggestions on a shop to rebuild it near Cleveland Ohio. I could get it out/in, but I don't have the time or special tools for the rebuild. If reasonable I'd have a pro do it.

Re: Loud wine/humm. Gear noise?
Update: some more test runs today and I found the truck is much quieter with the front axle ENGAGED(one lever back and the other forward, should be high range 4x4 right?)
This makes me think there is some t-case issue.
Any suggestions?

Re: Loud wine/humm. Gear noise?
Transmission fluid was filled at least to the upper rear cap screw on the right side PTO cover. T-case was about a quart low. I had SAE 30 around, so I topped off with that for now. Haven't checked difs yet. It got dark and lights aren't working so I'll have to test drive tomorrow. Side note: do peo...

Loud wine/humm. Gear noise?
Just starting to play with my m37 at it is very loud when under power. Not when coasting, not when revving engine while out of gear. This leads me to think it is transmission or transfer case. It works fine and seems smooth, but it is a loud hum, bordering on a roar. I don't have anything to compare...

Rims and tires- stock truck but want to drive
I'm new. You may have seen my OP on my truck. I'd like to stay as stock and historic as possible, but 50 year old, rock hard, NDT tires are a pretty tough ride. I'm thinking of getting a second set of rims to put some decent tires on for most driving and playing around. I'll use the old tires only i...

One is 61" the other about 64".
They look the same, maybe one shrunk a little. Canvas will do that.

Re: New guy new truck pics
Thanks. I there are one or two cargo box end curtains, but not the big canvas cover. Also came with a new seat cover and a heater(or part of one) that looks NOS.
There is a box of other parts, but not sure what they are.

Re: New guy new truck pics
Thanks for the fuel line tips. I'd hate to see it burn down. I'll put protecting those lines high on the list, along with brakes. Eventually I'd like to return to the factory fuel filter which may still be around, but it had issues. I should have taken a pic from the back. It still has the pick and ...

Re: New guy new truck pics
Got it home!!! Dropped in my boat batteries and it fired up. 4wd works and was needed to get it out. No need to wonder if the brakes are good, they aren't. Luckily the roads are lined with snow drifts that serve the same purpose. I'm thinking it may be in low range, 4th gear got me up to about 20-25...

Re: New guy new truck pics
Not sure where the top came from. There is a box of paper work that might have a clue once I get to it.
Another blast of weather this weekend may delay getting it home.

Re: New guy new truck pics
Thanks all. I'm pretty excited to see if it will fire up and drive home. When I last saw it, it ran but was hard to start and didn't want go much past idle. I am told that they found cracked fuel lines that were sucking air, which have been replaced. Supposedly it was starting easy and running well ...
