Re: For Sale: 4BT swapped 1954 M37, $15K -Upper Michigan

Gary,

Thanks for the kind words. I've enjoyed my time here too. I'd really like to sell it and use the cash to pick up a decent early 60's Porsche 356B. I've always had a soft spot for those. :D

For Sale: 4BT swapped 1954 M37, $10K -Upper Michigan

All, I'm sure the bulk of you are familar with this truck, I've been on the boards for a long time. After much careful thought and deliberation, I think it's time to part ways with the M. For me, It's jsut not the same as it was when I was younger. I've come to the conclusion that the truck wasn't w...

Re: Unpainted Bolts when Restoring?

my truck is about as far from a restoration as you can get; it's heavily modded, but, I did it this way: On items I knew I wasn't going to take apart later, like the box assembly, I sprayed the epoxy and high build primers on the separate panels, assembled them with zinc plated hardware, added a coa...

Re: Water separator for painting?

Gerry, I understand where you're going with it, but, the issue with that is that the hose does not have a drop leg to take the moisture out of the path of the air. The moisture will get carried to the end of the hose and into whatever equipment the hose is connected to. If you look at the picture I ...

Re: Show us your Steel...

I just picked up a 2012 Suzuki LT400 Quadsport EFI quad. I like it, alot, its a nice quad. I had been riding a 1998 Yamaha Warrior since it was new, and the liquid cooled 4 valve EFI is such a huge step up in performance and cooling. My work beater is a 1981 Mercedes Benz 300 SD turbodiesel. I bough...

Re: Wheels Not Balanced ?

I have 38" tubeless Michelins, and the balance in a bag works pretty good. It takes a 1/2 mile or so for them to round out and balance up, but, over all I'm moderately pleased with it. The one nice thing about it it every time you come to a stop, and reaccelerate, it rebalances the tire, so, it...

Re: Water separator for painting?

Agreed with Charles. I built my own separator, and it has two purposes, to remove water, and heat. Heat can screw with a paint job too. This is not mine, but, mine is very similar. http://media.photobucket.com/image/copper%20air%20dryer/turbocobra95/copper-water-traps.jpg Mine cost me about $150 to ...

Re: Building a retro M37

950C or F? 950 C is WAY too hot. I hope you mean F. If it is C, you need to stop driving it immediately and find your timing problem because you'll burn it down running that hot. It should be running somewhere between 800-1000F at cruise, and 1250 or so WOT full load. Im curious what you'll get for ...

Re: Update for you all

Thanks guys. The part that really pissed me off the most was I had two JH williams superatchets my dad had had since he was younger than me, and they took those. The welder and the other new stuff could be replaced easiliy enough, but those two ratchets can't be replaced. I think it'll work o...

Update for you all

Some of you might care, or, maybe not care what IVe been up to... Here is the cliffs notes version: A month and a half ago someone broke into my garage and stole all my tools. All the tools my dad gave me, my welder, my power tools, all gone. Shock and heartbreak didn't begin to describe it. Instead...

Youre right Wes, Imust be incredibly stupid to have thought for a moment I would be allowed to operate my personal property in the same manner as anyone else that owns and modifies cars as a hobby. Re-read my posts. Where did I call any lawmakers or officals names? I've been very respectful, probabl...

Re: Letter to the Governor

Wes, If you have a better idea, Im all ears. I've dumped a lot of time, money and effort into this truck, and quite frankly, to be honest, Im ready to sell it and walk away from cars all together as a hobby. there is not anyhting left on this planet you can do without some jackass wanting his piece ...

My letter to SEMA: Mr. McDonald, I am writing you to make you and others at SEMA aware of a recent development in Wisconsin regarding the recent passage of AB 595, Wisconsin Act 135 of 2010. I am sure that you are aware of the law, and how it has severely restricted the operation of orginal, unmodi...
